Grey Pets...

Fri Jun 30, 2006 7:46 pm

Hey guys, I couldn't find this answer anywhere, so I thought you guys could help.

I remember hearing somewhere that if your pets got sad enough they turned blue or even grey, is this true?

And also, is it true that if you feed your pet insane amounts of glowing jelly they turn glowing?

Is any of that true?

Thanks in advance. :D

EDIT: I found proof!

If your neopet is sad they only turn blue. If they could turn grey, people might abuse that. XD

Yes, glowing jelly can make a neopet turn glowing, but I heard it's over 300 jellies, so you gotta work for it.

I am so gonna buy glowing jelly like crazy xD. Glowing pats are cool, thanks :D

I doubt that the jelly will make pets glow. I have been feeding my pets it a lot and they have not begun glowing. Also, there has never been an actual case that I have heard of when a pet turns glowing from eating the jelly.

Yes, there have been cases of pets becoming Glowing. Search the NeoItems forum for it. There's even a screenshot of the event. It's just very rare, just like the Red, Blue and Invisible events.

Sounds like so many other "if you do this" claims that occasionally sprout up but have absolutely no truth to them. Then again there are the magical plushies that do work so maybe there is some truth to it but I highly doubt it.

edit: Looking at old Neopian Times articles, I ran across this:

Hi TNT, I was just wondering something. I heard a rumor that if your pet is very unhappy for too long, it wll turn blue. Is that true? ~mckenzie_river_husky

No, it won't automatically turn your Neopet blue. There is, however, a random event that does this. When it strikes and your Neopet is unhappy, it will turn blue. It's always best to take care of your Neopets and keep them happy. If you do that, there's nothing to worry about. :)

Here it is, actual proof found in the NeoItems.net forums...

I've heard of the Red and Blue event, but what is the Invisible event?

"Oh no! You can't find _________ anywhere!"

Or something to that effect, and your pet gets turned invisible.

thanks moongewl. I hope that never happens to me. I'm saving up for some xpensive paint brushes.

Do what others do with rare/expensive colors; use a pet you don't mind getting changed. :D

Thu Jul 06, 2006 12:38 pm

Yeah that's what I do. I keep my cheapest colour pet as my active pet. The only problem with that is that most stat increases end up going to him and not my battle pet, but I guess that's better than forking out for another Darigan PB.

There are plenty of other ways to up the stats on a nonactive pet so I don't worry about it too much.

And of course there's Boochi zapping your pet Baby, just for completeness.
