Avatars that involve Petpets

I was just wondering whether you could get the avatars that involve petpets from a labbed petpet.
My khnum just got mutated into a Halloween Huggy, but it's only 20 days old or something like that so I won't know until it ages. But will I be able to get the avatar from it?

How long ago? I thought I saw somewhere that you can no longer get avvies from labbed petpets.
