Let's say you have an ultra-rare gourmet food, one that there's only a few of. Current TP prices are in the upper millions. How long would it take to sell it?
Not that I'm lucky enough to have anything that valuable. Just curious.

I've never had much luck selling hard to sells (rare foods or otherwise). I've found you can wait months without getting any decent offers. I believe with hard to sells you're best to sell actively. A lot of people suggest working out who the target market is (for foods it'd be the gourmet club; books would be the booklist; other items usually specific galleries) and then contacting a few people there that might be interested and hoping one of them still needs the item and is willing to offer a fair price.
Of course, it's always good to be sceptical of these items that are listed as worth millions on the Trade Post. If people aren't willing to pay that price then they're really not worth that much.

Good info. Thanks Medusa.

You can also make offers on comparable thigns you want using the rare food. That is the most effective agressive tactic I know of. Trade (even trading down sometimes) for an easier to sell item.

Wow, it almost sounds like having a HTS is just a pain in the butt.

Simply due to the fact that people are not always willing to blow their points on a gourmet food, it would take quite some time. Normaly, trading (without loads of advertising) will take much longer that your shop/auctions. (^^)
Now, I could tell you this or just go: OH!1!! IF YOU GEt one CAN I have IT?!?1?!!?!1?/?? PLXZZZZZZZZ!!111!
haha
