Neoquest Paint Brush

Sun May 28, 2006 1:42 am

Hay,

I've just started playing Neoquest II for the first time (and I love it hehe) and I was thinking it would be cool to have a Neoquest paintbrush hehe, your blumaroos could be painted to look like Rohane, Lupes could be painted to look like Cave Lupes, Acaras like Mipsy etc. lol

What do y'all think? I dunno maybe its dumb but I thought it'd be pretty cool :)

That'd be pretty cool.
Of course you would have to take into consideration that the players get new armer four times, so their look changes.
Still, I think the idea is pretty neat.

Yea, maybe the paint brush could just display the best armoured looks for the pet :D Whatever they are.. im only level 6 so haven't seem them yet lol

Yeah, they have a lot of cool neopet-monsters in that game, my favourite is the Venemous Vine, a crazy Grrarl-Venus Fly Trap hybrid. <3 :P

[Well, since you're just starting and I'm near the end of Evil level, I'll give you a couple small tips.
1. I never buy potions, I save up the ones I get from monsters. I save tons of gold this way. (especially when you get Velm , the healer [a looong ways away], he helps to save potions like crazy to the point of being able to sell surplus)
1.5 This is also a good training tip, to stay in an area until you've stocked up on potions well.
2. I try to stay around a free inn area as long as possible.
3. I never really buy Mipsy wands too much, I try to get them from bosses. Though sometimes you have to in easy mode. Armor is a must though X_X

Slow and steady is my way, so if you're trying to race through, I guess my way doesn't work. Though I don't think I'd want to race through on my first go...

Feel free to pm me. Though I'm no expert, I might be able to help. (and I tend to get bored between bosses)

The best place to get help though is the "In Depth Neoquest Guide". If you haven't found that site already. The best guide there is "NeoQuest II Boss Strategy Guide", which is actually a good guide to skill point placement as well. No walkthrough yet.
And, if you haven't been there, there's a Neoquest thread under the Neopets Game Strategies forum. Which I never really go to anymore, but went constantly as a beginner.

Good Luck! -^__^- ]

I was thinking the exact same thing a while ago. I love Eyries, but dont like a lot of colors they have, and Id go crazy if I could paint mine into an undead warrior, or traitorous eyrie. Even the eyrie spectres look better than most ghost neopets. Too bad it wouldnt make sense to have a pet turn into sentient fungus. Those are my favorite, besides the corrupted faeries :)

A lot of the desert and haunted area creatures would be redundant, but a lot of others are pretty unique. Im imagining a Draik as smaller King Terask II or something. And an Elephante as Zombom would probably make me want one, despite not liking Elephantes at all.

Thanks heaps :) Ill be sure to annoy you with pestering type New Member PMs if I get stuck (ie. OMG!!!1 like theres this one monster what the heck LOL who umm.. hey can you just GIVE ME free stuff??!?!!? ROFL OMGYAY!) lol I am taking things slow too, had a quick read of a few guides on IDNQ and am trying to stay a couple of levels above the monsters I fight.

As for the paintbrush.. maybe I should pester Neopets with annoying New Member emails telling them to make it :D

I think I remember a topic like this from a long time ago, funny. In any event, I like the idea a lot, with a few exceptions. Most notably, you know that the Hissi would probably be painted into e Rattlecobrall-esque thingy, and don't ask me why but those things literally freak me out (I have to turn images off in South Lost Desert).

I've tried to play Neoquest a few times but on dial-up it's way too boring to stick with it. However, any new colo(u)r TNT can throw at us is better than not having it at all.

Talking of a NeoQuest paintbrush, I was bored before and made some characters and put them in nq2 clothes:

...yes, I DID have too much time in my hands...I was completely bored.

i thought of it many times, the paintbrush idea, i can't wait for neoquest 3
some of the characters are already done like the ghost, and royal, maybe they could make 2 types neoquest hero, and neoquest monster

Heh... that's actually a pretty cool idea :) But if it painted pets with the "best" armo(u)r etc, wouldn't it clash a bit with the Royal Paint Bush?

I mean, if TNT did actually release a NQ paintbrush, it might be so popular it'd become a hidden tower item...

I play it constantly on dial-up. Maybe Im just insane :) It was hard to get into at first though. I quit twice, but once I finally got out of the initial 'training' levels, it was a lot more fun.

Those made me giggle! If I had any art skills, Id probably waste time doing the same sorts of things.

It does sound like a great idea. The only problem I could think that would come up is for the pets where there are more than one version of them in the games - for example, for Lupes there are Mountain Lupes, Plains Lupes, Cave Lupes etc., so which one would be used? And, chances are that a paint-brush with such a vague theme would not be accepted.

I love the idea, but maybe as, say, a Lab Ray thing, like robot? Then you'd get the major characters as pets, but you wouldn't have to try and find a Lenny in Neoquest!

So you could have:
Blumaroo = Rohane
Acara = Mipsy
Eyrie = Talinia
Techo = Velm
Elephante = Zombom
Bruce = Ramtor

Et cetera.

EDIT: Just another thought - gender. Would many people be pleased with their female pet being Rohane, or a male Mipsy?!?

Nothing wrong with buying a few potions when you get the opportunity, they're worth it early on. But you should almost never get that opportunity if you're not rushing areas at a risky pace.

ProfessorRemusMoonyLupin wrote:1.5 This is also a good training tip, to stay in an area until you've stocked up on potions well.

Personally, I just make sure I'm set to 'hunting' throughout the entire game. Safe way of making sure you're always high enough lvl without having to train on-the-spot. Exceptions are Zombom early on, where you'll need to train a level or two without progressing in order to get strong enough to beat him even if you always had hunting on, and the lost dessert where you have to travel through areas where the monsters are too weak to be worth fighting a lot on your way from place to place.

ProfessorRemusMoonyLupin wrote:2. I try to stay around a free inn area as long as possible.

Good idea on principle, but if you do the above rarely necessary.

If you're strong enough for an area, you should be able to keep your HP full in it simply by fighting and using one of each potion you get from the monsters you beat. Holding 20 is useless, you just miss out on getting the ones you otherwise would then. Use one, hold 19, use the next when you get 20 again.

ProfessorRemusMoonyLupin wrote:3. I never really buy Mipsy wands too much, I try to get them from bosses. Though sometimes you have to in easy mode. Armor is a must though X_X

No need whatsoever to ever buy mipsy wands. The only thing store-bought wands have is attack points, which don't matter for mipsy because you should never need to use her basic attack in the first place (direct damage is a must on her). The only useful thing about mipsy's wands is the skill points that come on magical ones.

Just giving my input. I've finnished all three modes and am halfway through finnishing evil for a second time, so I've had some opportunity to develop strategies.

I think it would be cool if there was a kind of 'Hero' paint brush, which would give pets the kind of style of the NQII heroes, but you wouldn't get a specific character as such (and thus make it rather more inclusive...). Or maybe different types of armour that your pet can put on to make them a 'Hero'- so you could get the different looks.

And spoonguardonline, you need to spend some time in the Happy Fun Non-Haunted House...
