Problem with Flash games

Wed May 24, 2006 1:40 am

When I play the Flash games in Firefox they're very laggy, but I can deal with it. On the other hand, when I play them in IE, only the numbers show up and not the letters (except for the weirdness in Mini Golf, note the screenshot URL's below).

The Flash version I have is 8.0.22.0 and I've tried downloading the newest version, 8.0.24.0 but I just end up with my current one. I've also searched for some answers on this board and some suggestions include right-clicking and selecting forward (doesn't work, I get a dialog box to customize settings); and turning off ad-blockers (don't have any in IE).

Overall, it's not like I can't play the games, I just have to remember what button does what. But still it's annoying. Any suggestions?

I'd try un-installing and re-installing all of your programs, like Flash and Shockwave and stuff.

Ive had problems with the same thing, ever since that big game problem a few weeks ago. It seemed to get fixed for everyone but me, and asking for help on the Games Neoboard just led to people telling me my computer sucked. Trying to update my Flash version doesnt work either...Im ending up with the same one I already have too.

My favorite games lag to the point of frustration, and its just not fun. I cant even do WC for Volcano Run anymore, because the controls are responding in a slower, kind of floatyjerky way o_o Its really hurting my NP earnings. I cant restock, and relying on NQII for income is just luck.

Where would I go to un-install Flash? I'd thought of doing that, but couldnt find where to do it. Also, with the trouble I'd had updating Flash, I didnt want to remove it, only to find that I couldnt re-install.

Have you tried emptying your cache folder or your temporary internet folder.

Here is a websitehttp://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/

I dont know about anyone else, but that was the first thing I tried, since that was the first bit of advice I came across. Cleared the cache, cleared temps, even cleared cookies, because hey...its cant hurt.

Thanks for the link that leads me to the link to uninstall. Hopefully Ill be able to reinstall :)
