Altador: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml?

(Note: Make sure you click CONTINUE (if applicable) when you have completed each part!)
========= The Beginning ============
1. Click the big castle in the center of the map, The Hall of Heros
2. In the very back-right corner, you'll see a familiar character. Click him!
3. Hey! It's our old friend again. Looks like he has a new job-- Janitor. Click that button that's next to him.
---> Hm, nothing happened.
4. Oh well, Now click the Altadorian Archives, then go into the doorway on the right.
5. Click the book that is under one of the table legs and balancing it.
---> Hm, we're going to have to replace it...
6. Now go to the QUARRY. And find a rock that'll be suitable. Stumped? Here.
---> Aha! A good replacement for that book...
7. Go back to the Altadorian Archives and click that same book again.
---> We can access the book now! (Located near the top-right part of the scene)
8. You can read the prologue from that book now.
---> Advance a page by clicking the top-right of the book, go back by clicking the top-left.
*** Page 1~3 Acquired! *** (out of 53 pages)
9. Go back to the Janitor in The Hall of Heros and talk to him.
---> Hm. We're going to need something to help oil some gears...
10. Click each statue until you find a bottle of oil & a rag
---> Note: Location is different for each person. Perhaps you should write where you found it, just in case. (Although evidence indicates that it is NOT relevant)
11. Once you've found it, go back to the Janitor and click the button again.
---> The ceiling opens up! Let there be LIGHT!

======= Enlightenment =========
Alright, so here are points of interests now.
* On the left side of The Hall of Heros, there is now a staircase leading up to a dome-shaped room. Looks like a telescope is missing.
* Although using "http://www.neopets.com/altador/archives.phtml?board=6" once got you to the Astronomy Club, it NO LONGER WORKS and in fact NEVER WORKED to begin with. Disregard this.
* If you click each statue in The Hall of Heros, on the very top pixels /section of the picture of the statue, you can look up, and get some arrangement of gems. The following are the same for EVERYONE, here is the breakdown:
- 20 above King Altador
- 22 above Jerdana
- 22 above Siyana
- 22 above Kelland
- 19 above Florin
- 18 above Torakor
- 19 above Darkest faerie
- 22 above marak
- 16 above fauna
- 20 above Psellia
- 17 above Gordos
- 19 above Sasha
--> As well as a helpful compilation of the pictures by soymimi here

I really think that this plot takes place after the DF game when the Darkest Faerie is already trapped again. Here is a paragraph of the neopedia article to illustrate that:

Word is quickly spreading that two young heroes, a Lupe and an Acara, had something to do with the great city's restoration. Now, thanks to the aid of Queen Fyora herself, it seems that the Darkest Faerie is once again trapped... this time in a place where Fyora can keep a close eye on her.

It says the DF is trapped again and that roberta and the lupe (forgot his name) helped to save Altador what happened precisely in the game.

Plus it would be rather boring if they'd follow the plot line of the game. I think almost everyone knows exactly what will happen then. I like that TNT choose another angle then the df game story line.

My theory.

I think, perhaps, when the next part is updated, we will get to go around Altador, looking for things? Like we did with the rock? That would be awesome. Like an escape the room type thing..but you dont escape the room. I think the next thing that will come up is finding that blasted telescope.

TNT made my DAY when they started this. Its very fun. And I hope that we get to do..well what I explained in the above paragraph.

How about you guys?

i have a question, earlier someone mentioned that when the gems were laid on top of the pictures of their cooresponding statues, there was usually a gem or two left over, when combined is the result significant? i dont have a photo-edit program and i cant seem to do it on paint, could someone check it out?

Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:58 pm

Just posting AGAIN to say that this is most likely set after the PS2 game, as the Altador Neopedia Article says that a Lupe and an Acara helped in the restoration of the city. And wouldn't you know it, a Lupe and an Acara were the Protagonists of the PS2 game, and in it they helped to restore Altador.
Also, the Article says that The Darkest Faerie IS GONE.

So, the Neopedia article makes lots of refrences to the PS2 game in the past tense, and it explicitly states that The Darkest Faerie is gone.

That means that this will most likely be set after the PS2 game, and that either TDF is going to come back, or this is something completely different.

So, here's what we know:

There was an Astronomy Club that could be joined, but it was taken down as it appears that it was released too early by accident.

There is an Observatory on top of The Hall Of Heroes with a Telescope Stand but no Telescope, and that there are stars visable either through or on the Observatory's roof.

In the Hall Of Heroes there are 12 Statues, one for each of the 12 protectors of Altador. Above each statue, gems are visable, but only if you have opened the roof.

There is a book called the Book Of Ages that has 53 pages in it, but only 3 pages are filled in.

Only 10 of the 12 Heroes remain.

Hopefully, this will help tidy things up a bit.

But then why is the DF still in the Ruins of Maraqua?

Perhaps this plot/puzzle is more about discovering Altador's history rather than a new thing.

Or maybe the two come together?

Good point, but the article and what was posted in the news points to the direction that the plot takes place after everything what happened in the game. Also the fact that it will be a minor plot without a war, if the DF would escape you would expect a major plot with a war.

I think a lot of people are getting confused by the neopedia article and making things much more complicated than they are. We've established that the events in the video game have already occured. The Darkest faerie has been sealed off again by Fyora. As for the humber of remaining heroes, excluding the darkest faerie who's back at the bottom of Old Maraqua (again, probably because they hadn't thought about putting her elsewhere), there are 11 out of 12 heroes left. Nothing points to a mysterious 13th or that Jerdana is out of the picture.
Current Location: Unknown (near the sea)
Founded by: The Twelve Heroes
Primary Ruler: King Altador
Council Members: The ten remaining heroes
Areas of Interest: Altador Coliseum, Archives, Hall of Heroes

King Altador is distinguished from being a normal council member as he is the primary ruler. When you exlude him and the Darkest faerie, that leaves all 10 remaining heroes still around.

Frankly, I think the fact that the statue is still there, is TNT being forgetfull. She should be in the fountain in Faerieland. Which they *should* have added when they added the portal...bah...

I agree with the people that are saying this takes place after the PS2 game, the neopedia article, and other things, are clearly pointing towards that.

Thank you. I was getting so confused from everyone saying that Jerdana was missing because the numbers didn't add up right. I thought I was screwing up basic math really badly. ^^;

Maybe be TNT will put the statue in Faerieland when they update the map some day in the future? I don't think they will draw a complete new map just for the DF statue. It is very confusing however...

I'm thinking that someone accidentily knocked the statue off the fountain and it fell in the ocean...

Sun Mar 19, 2006 11:23 pm

Taking a break from my physics to participate! :-D

While it does seem that, logically, what takes place now should follow that Fyora has already captured and sealed off the Darkest Faerie... I'm not sure it will be like that.

In the Book of Ages (I believe that's what we are calling it now), there is a passage that reads:

Within this tome you will find the recorded history of the twelve heroes and how they came to form the Kingdom of Altador. Protect this knowledge well, for it may be all that is left if Jerdana's magic fails and the betrayer succeeds....

After that, the rest of the pages are blank. It's written to the point of where the Darkest Faerie is currently not captive and roaming free.

So I shall hypothesize that we may be discovering the history of Altador in the times before and when the Darkest Faerie was at the peak of her power. However, I'm not sure how strongly that can be supported, seeing as TNT has released the game. But I am pretty certain that the plot unfolding coincides with the game itself.

What else do you think that passage could lead to? What direction is this going, according to what the book is suggesting?

Good point too. But maybe the book was written before the Df was captured again? So that will still make it possible that the plot takes place after the game :P Ok, that might be a stretch...

I guess the book and neopedia article contradict each other. We will just have to wait and see what happens ;)
