Altador: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml?

(Note: Make sure you click CONTINUE (if applicable) when you have completed each part!)
========= The Beginning ============
1. Click the big castle in the center of the map, The Hall of Heros
2. In the very back-right corner, you'll see a familiar character. Click him!
3. Hey! It's our old friend again. Looks like he has a new job-- Janitor. Click that button that's next to him.
---> Hm, nothing happened.
4. Oh well, Now click the Altadorian Archives, then go into the doorway on the right.
5. Click the book that is under one of the table legs and balancing it.
---> Hm, we're going to have to replace it...
6. Now go to the QUARRY. And find a rock that'll be suitable. Stumped? Here.
---> Aha! A good replacement for that book...
7. Go back to the Altadorian Archives and click that same book again.
---> We can access the book now! (Located near the top-right part of the scene)
8. You can read the prologue from that book now.
---> Advance a page by clicking the top-right of the book, go back by clicking the top-left.
*** Page 1~3 Acquired! *** (out of 53 pages)
9. Go back to the Janitor in The Hall of Heros and talk to him.
---> Hm. We're going to need something to help oil some gears...
10. Click each statue until you find a bottle of oil & a rag
---> Note: Location is different for each person. Perhaps you should write where you found it, just in case. (Although evidence indicates that it is NOT relevant)
11. Once you've found it, go back to the Janitor and click the button again.
---> The ceiling opens up! Let there be LIGHT!

======= Enlightenment =========
Alright, so here are points of interests now.
* On the left side of The Hall of Heros, there is now a staircase leading up to a dome-shaped room. Looks like a telescope is missing.
* Although using "http://www.neopets.com/altador/archives.phtml?board=6" once got you to the Astronomy Club, it NO LONGER WORKS and in fact NEVER WORKED to begin with. Disregard this.
* If you click each statue in The Hall of Heros, on the very top pixels /section of the picture of the statue, you can look up, and get some arrangement of gems. The following are the same for EVERYONE, here is the breakdown:
- 20 above King Altador
- 22 above Jerdana
- 22 above Siyana
- 22 above Kelland
- 19 above Florin
- 18 above Torakor
- 19 above Darkest faerie
- 22 above marak
- 16 above fauna
- 20 above Psellia
- 17 above Gordos
- 19 above Sasha
--> As well as a helpful compilation of the pictures by soymimi here

Well, before the split, I mentioned how the Psellia in the Hall of Heroes is the same one who rescued Jeran in the Battle for Meridell plot. So lets go from there, because we don't have much else.

Pictures:

Also, text from Gallery of Heroes:
Not much is known about this mysterious air faerie who aided Meridell during their war against the forces of Lord Kass. It was through her efforts that the dark clouds were whisked away, and the sun shone down on the brave knights of Meridell as they attacked the citadel.

It was also Psellia who rescued Jeran, Meridell's greatest knight, as he fell from the Citadel after being thrown off by Lord Kass. Thanks to her, Jeran was brought back to Meridell Castle safely.

Referencing back here.

[Note: Storyline theories, not plot theories]

Good eye, TOSO. I was waiting for someone to mention that (and may have missed an earlier mention in the many, many posts that appeared earlier). I was thinking storyline stuff that will not help the plot was at work there. Also, given the similarities between Altador's symbol and that of Brightvale, not to mention the heros in the vid game were from the Brightvale area, the idea of Altador as Neopia's stongest guardians, with the mantle falling to Meridel and Brightvale, sounds about right. I would not be surprised if information revealed in this plot helps explain more of Neopia's past (just the thing I was calling for in the LDP). Big props to TNT, and another thanks to TOSO for making the first mention.

[End storyline theories, which will probably be the only thing I'll be able to help with as long as the mods allow]

uh, how can that be the same Psellia when the Darkest Faerie and Altador was locked away 200 years ago? (PS2 game plot; may not be related that closely)

The Meridell storyline supposedly took place 300 years ago. And anyway, it CAN'T be a coincidence. They're just too similar. For a look at Psellia in action, click here and then here. In the second link, keep your eyes peeled for another faerie that may look familiar...

The Meridell storyline supposedly took place 300 years ago.

Similar argument, except that I add that there is not real established age for Faeries. Psellia could have been an older, weaker version in Meridell than the one in Ancient Altador. The Space Faerie is allegedly many eons old.

Edit: The classic granddaughter (or more) theory could also apply.

PS: We have run into plot holes like this many times before, and we just speculated around them. And that is where I come in (although not on the scale I did for the LDP since this one seem pretty well written as is). Poses triumphantly.

Their similarities are undenyable. She looks so sad in her statue, though!

I prefer her in the Meridell plot.

I have my own theory that maybe it's not just the Darkest Faerie who is in stone and that maybe some of the other statues may be "sleeping" forms of the actual characters. Noone's mentioned this so that's probably totally out of the question...

I'd be pretty sad too if I was a statue.

Hmm... perhaps a bit of foreshadowing from the second link from TOSO? "But it's true what they say... heroes never die. They just go away for awhile... and they always come back when we need them the most."

In the Altadorian Main map, the ship in the background has a sun on it too. with 8 points.

Just a check-up.

How in the world did you see that? You must have like 20/10 vision or something.

If Siyanas statue is lighter than the rest, does that mean the other statues need cleaning? I dunno.

*right click* and Zoom on Flash maps ;)

On the sun points topic the Altadorian Initiate Sword has five points. Unless of course the sixth point is covered by where the sun design joins the hilt. But anouther thought on the sun's rays as the design resembles compass points there may eventually be a sun's ray that will lead in the direction of a clue.Image

Wow, I never knew that. I'm never going to be able to stop doing it now.

By the way: Watch this animation. See if you can't spot a certain sun symbol? (That's alliteration)
