Altador Archives "Plot" (split 1)

Sat Mar 18, 2006 9:02 am

Ahoy! It looks like we're in for another plot! Updated information should be posted here!

Just follow the steps and have fun along the ride!

======== Links of interest =========
First Thread: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24856
Altador: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml?

(Note: Make sure you click CONTINUE (if applicable) when you have completed each part!)
========= The Beginning ============
1. Click the big castle in the center of the map, The Hall of Heros
2. In the very back-right corner, you'll see a familiar character. Click him!
3. Hey! It's our old friend again. Looks like he has a new job-- Janitor. Click that button that's next to him.
---> Hm, nothing happened.
4. Oh well, Now click the Altadorian Archives, then go into the doorway on the right.
5. Click the book that is under one of the table legs and balancing it.
---> Hm, we're going to have to replace it...
6. Now go to the QUARRY. And find a rock that'll be suitable. Stumped? Here.
---> Aha! A good replacement for that book...
7. Go back to the Altadorian Archives and click that same book again.
---> We can access the book now! (Located near the top-right part of the scene)
8. You can read the prologue from that book now.
---> Advance a page by clicking the top-right of the book, go back by clicking the top-left.
*** Page 1~3 Acquired! *** (out of 53 pages)
9. Go back to the Janitor in The Hall of Heros and talk to him.
---> Hm. We're going to need something to help oil some gears...
10. Click each statue until you find a bottle of oil & a rag
---> Note: Location is different for each person. Perhaps you should write where you found it, just in case.
11. Once you've found it, go back to the Janitor and click the button again.
---> The ceiling opens up! Let there be LIGHT!

======= Enlightenment =========
Alright, so here are points of interests now.
* On the left side of The Hall of Heros, there is now a staircase leading up to a dome-shaped room. Looks like a telescope is missing.
* Although using "http://www.neopets.com/altador/archives.phtml?board=6" once got you to the Astronomy Club, it NO LONGER WORKS.
* If you click each statue in The Hall of Heros, on the very top section of the picture of the statue, you can look up, and get some arrangement of gems. The following are the same for EVERYONE, here is the breakdown:
- 20 above King Altador
- 22 above Jerdana
- 22 above Siyana
- 22 above Kelland
- 19 above Florin
- 18 above Torakor
- 19 above Darkest faerie
- 22 above marak
- 16 above fauna
- 20 above Psellia
- 17 above Gordos
- 19 above Sasha
--> As well as a helpful compilation of the pictures by soymimi here
========================================
Any additions/corrections should be posted here.

About the compiled image... I think it would be a little more realistic reversed, because if you stand facing King Altador and look up, the Darkest Faerie's would be at the top of your view (behind you), and the King's would be at the bottom (in front of you). You might have to stop and picture it for a second, but I hope that made sense.

Wait... (A little of topic but,) Is it a perfectly flat rock quarry or a perfectly flat rock quarry?

Hmmm... how interesting. I would say the latter. Yes. That would be it.

And thats about all I'm useful for!

As long as we're posting numbers, I note that the Book of Ages has 53 pages. We're currently up to page 3.

Encouraging, aren't I? ;)

Very encouraging and hopefully it won't take that long to get the other pages readable.

I'm glad I'm in time for this plot :P Missed the maraquan before :(

I was wondering when the constellation TCG cards would come into play *sqwee!*

I really hope I'll be able to keep up with this one! Rotten timing on my part, since I won't be online as much as I used to.

Just in Case: I found my Oil and Rag next to King Altador's statue.

Edit: Do you think those gems are supposed to make some sort of 'constellation'? The ancient Greeks/Romans came up with the constellations we all know... Still, they don't look like they could, those gems...

Points of Interest (that people probably already noticed but might as well be noted):
-In the Hall of Heroes, the tile behind the statue of Florin is a different color than the rest.
-there is a (very obvious) plaque of sorts on the very back wall in the Hall of Heroes.

Just thought they might be useful in the future?

Does anyone have any idea how long it will be before the notice for the Astronomy Club will appear on the Archives Board? My friend and I were on AIM, working through what information we already had about the new quest and he managed to make it to the working link for the Club just a few minutes before I did. Unfortunately I missed out which is unfortunate but I'm really looking forward to taking part in this one as I was forced to give up on the Lost Desert Plot very early on due to time constraints so this is the first quest I'll really be involved in. It's rather exciting really *is all giddy*

*toddles off to patiently await access to the Astronomy Club*

Well, I bought Auto Targeting Telescope and went everywhere and tried to click on everything I could find. And then I equipped it to my pet and did likewise. Well, it was worth a try!

It was.

Jar of Oil & Rag were behind the statue of the Darkest Faerie for me. Mmm... one finds it behind the King Altador statue, one behind the statue of the Darkest Faerie. Do you they're going to forcibly split us up into good & evil camps?

Ah, once again we are in the grip of Plot Fever. :D

Maybe not as big as the LDP, but hopefully just as fun.

I like TNT's sense of humour - Archives, Foreman - are they trying to drive us insane?? At least the Foreman doesn't have a cudgel.

Good Job to all those who have so far managed to work through the plot.

I hope to be around when the next installment comes.

Of course, it was the janitor all along... I think we can all agree to that. ;)

Mine was behind the statue of Florin, the Farmer. Would that mean they're going to split us into good, evil, and farmers, which are neither? ;)

I'm pretty sure that really the reason they had that was to make it so you can't just follow a "click here, click here, click here" guide and complete the plot without even seeing it at all--just like with the LDP, where we all had different temples, etc.
