Birthday required? O.o

Tue Mar 14, 2006 4:05 pm

I hadn't signed into a couple side accounts for quite a while and I thought it'd be a good thing to set up PINs for them. When I tried to sign in, they asked for birthday's as well as passwords, though. >.< I do not remember what birthdays I put for each account. (To explain: when I started them, they were for friends who I let access Neopets from my house since they didn't have internet. This was many years ago.) Is there anyway to retrieve the birth date that anyone knows of? I have some nice things in the SDBs and I'd hate to lose them. >.<

What's odd is that I was able to sign into one of them fine. It didn't ask for a birthday, but the other ones do. O.o

Oh my dear. I lied about my age when I started my account. (nothing illegal, just took off about 20 yrs). now I have to write down my neopets birthday with my changing list of neopets passwords and PINS. I'm gonna loose that paper.

Shoot. I lied about my age, too (not for illegal reasons; I just didn't want people to know my real age).

But I haven't had to give my "birthdates" when logging in. Maybe it's just a new thing they implemented for accounts that haven't been visited in awhile?

That's not really fair because you can have your password sent to your email if you forget it, but you can't have your birthday sent (not that you should forget that if it's right). >.< I wish they had mentioned they were going to do this before they implemented it. I guess they are enforcing the whole your info must me correct that you agree to when creating an account. :(

I've lost four of my accounts because of that... I think. But I lied when starting my accounts (all of them) because i was under 13. So... but that was three years ago... says im like 27 or something :P

I actually accidentally put in the wrong day (typo) for my birthday. Maybe I should write it down somewhere safe.

I sure hope I told the truth on mine or I in trouble lol

I seem to recall something being said about this in the news ages ago, something like if you don't log on for 6 (?) months you have to put in your date of birth as well as password when logging on...

So I would recommend going to http://www.neopets.com/userinfo.phtml and making sure your 'Date of Birth' on NP, is written down in a safe place, just in case (Maybe send yourself an email with it in). :)

No idea how to access your date of birth without logging in though...

I remember it was mentioned in the news. Not sure how long ago though.

I have all my account names, passwords, birthdates, and what email each account has listed.... Saved on notepad on my computer. I have to refer to it now and again, and at least I can't lose it like I would a piece of paper ;)

I had an old Neopets account a few years ago that I tried to log in to at one time and had the same problem. Asked for my birthday as well as my password. I could never get into it again. The silly thing is, that I never lied about my birthday, so I don't know what happened there.

o_O Weird, a couple weeks ago I was trying to remember the passwords to some of my old old accounts and none of them asked for my birthday. I lied on all of mine too though so I really hope this never comes up for me haha.

I remember reading in the news that they were going to do this. The reason it sticks with me is that I put in any old date when making accounts and I thought, "Well there go those accounts..." I've played on and off for 6 years (March 11, 2000) so have had a few accounts. Guess we should pay more attention to the news.

Mine's right. November 28, 1992.
It's my side accounts I worry about. o_o

Thank goodness I've never felt the urge to lie about my birthday. This is because they used to send happy birthday emails, if I remember right...

I always looked forward to receiving one on my 18th birthday, but that has come and gone and I never got one. Boo-urns, Neopets. Boo-urns.

Oh, I feel for you there, buddy. D: Not only did I join neopets back before the whole 'only 4 per email' thing (which means that now i have many older accounts all sharing an email,so if i try to get a password for one of them it will not go through because it cannot send passwords for emails coorelating with multiple accounts) I put different dates for some of my accounts (just out of fun, since I was making up characters as some of the owners and..things like that. i was young and stupid XD;) So now when you log into an account you haven't been on in awhile (?) it asks for your birthday along with your password and for a couple I'm just like "...uh...?" cause they're totally..random. I've lost well over 100,000 in np alone on accounts i can't get into. It's a crying shame,it is.
