I got bored and started looking through the old April Fool's pets, when something caught my eye:
It's called a Dattup. I think it looks better, and has a better name, than its counterpart.

Some of the April Fools pets seem to have been redeveloped and then released as actual pets or petpets.

*Sigh* I wish they would have realsed the pets as we seen them on Aprils Fools rather then redraw them into things such as the Gnobru. No one voted for the Gnobru, they voted for the ORIGINAL pet, not a recreation and redrawing of it.
And, I agree with you Sane, Dattup is a great name and this original pet looks alot better.

I will say I'm surprised the Ogrin is a redraw of an April Fools pet (because that is how this looks). I thought it was just a mismashing of various animals.

I just keep thinking about how I would like a Dattup much more than I would an Ogrin...
If one of the two brave Neopets mentioned in the upcoming plot is an Ogrin, I think I will barf. Seriously.

I don't think the ogrin is supposed to be this pet. It's just got a vaguely similar body.

And hooves, and mohawk and a similar face . . . I'd have to say that it is indeed very heavyly influenced by this.

Yep, they look pretty alike to me. Weird moehawk hair, giraffe-like skinny neck and tail, pouty little snout with a "beard"... the ogrin has stripes instead of spots and weird paws instead of hooves, but they do look like... I dunno, cousins or something.

That's who they were in the video game, but they might not be the same ones in the plot. Following recent trends, it'll be an Usul and a Lupe.

I somehow doubt that they would change the main characters at the last minute.

Nah, TNT'll probably use the Ogrin like they used that Uni in the LDP: as a loyal steed.
I prefer the Ogrin as it is, but then, I'm a bit too attached to mine to say otherwise.

Have we had it said that the 2 plots are definately related? I know I'd prefer them co-exist while not being the same - that may give a huge example to our American friends.
