new game: - The Great Qasalan Caper -

Mon Feb 27, 2006 5:56 pm

This showed up today in my puzzles game page. I can't run it, though - it gives me "You don't have the latest Flash plugin". I remember that error from another game. The problem isn't that I don't have the plugin, is it?

you need the Flash8 plugin to play this game
:(

That's what the message says. I do have that plugin, the message is caused by something else, when starting up the little animation that plays while the game is loading. But I forgot what was wrong, except that if you wait, it goes away.

I really don't get it.
What are the rules? There are a bunch of random thingies flying around and everything moves as soon as I start doing well. what the heck

Okay, this game is a little confusing at first, but I am amazingly amused with it now.

Basically the premise is to shift rows left and right. You can only shift rows with statues on them. Click on the left side of the row to push them towards the right, click on the right side of the row to push them towards the left.

There are a few very annoying bugs with this game that I've gotten many times.
1/ The never-ending-eating Lyin: This happens when my statues are all at the top, with only one gap...leading to a Lyin. As my statues fall and get eaten, new ones generate on top and also fall and get eaten. I've once lost almost 100 points in this loop.

2/ The gapless row: The game generates rows so that they all have gaps (and thus making it possible for you to shift statues down), but when you hit a lever, the rows rearrange. Sometimes it ends up rearranging rows in such a fashion that there aren't any gaps in there, leaving you completely stuck.

Not to mention how time's ticking when these bugs happen, leaving you no choice but to either suffer through it until the Lyin moves or a block disintegrates (respectively to each case), or to end your game.

Other than that, I'm having much fun (bracing myself for that bronze trophy, since I'm 9th place at the time of posting), and it's a quick 1000 NP, if you don't count running into "glitches." Unfortunately, the "glitches" occur very, very often.

This game is rather confusing and frustrating at first, and still a little frustrating even after learning it. I don't think it's going to end up on my favorites list.

I wouldn't call it a bug... I'd call it part of the game. for (1) it's just pure annoyances. If they get up there. Joy. It's a pain I know... but hardly a bug.
Same with (2) I think that only happens when you pull a lever... and you know when you pull a lever you're gettin' yourself in some muck. [e] Never mind. Sometimes you just start out in a jam. Boourns. I take it back :P

Tis all part of the game me thinks. And I love the game ;P

Yeah, I've been playing more the past few days...you're right, it isn't really a bug. I'm also starting to see it appear at the beginning of levels. I guess the only way to solve it is to use another lever, wait for a crate to break (which takes an AWFULLY long time), or wait for a Lyin to eat a crate (risky, because they might not move away).

Oh, I won that bronze trophy! First game trophy ever, ever since I got really close to the Dice Escape and Bouncy Supreme ones. :D

HAH! I lost 1000 points to the Never-Ending Lyin Bug!

I beat you!

There should be competitions to the lowest score, since this game seems to have much pontential for that.

Finding it EXTREMELY difficult to beat the better then you contest thats linked with it! So far I've got up to 2150 (and forgot to press submit, because I was annoyed that I hadn't got to the 3000 mark)

Any ideas?

Hrm! Level 3 and I got a solid row of boxes! I feel....unfaired!
