Sharing Accounts

Sat Feb 25, 2006 4:37 am

Are you allowed to share accounts? I read in the editorial once that you can't pay other people to play games for you... but.
It's just that I have my own smurf and so does my brother, he's not that good at neopets... at all, so I play games for him and sometimes restock. Is that freezable? and if so, will my smurf get frozen as well, even if I'm the only one playing there?

It's against the rules to let somebody else to play games for your account, yes.

But can they detect it? No. TNT has not installed video cameras to spy on your house. They do not have sensors coming out of the computer to check if it really is the owner who is playing the games. There's no way they can know who's playing the games.

Both of your accounts are coming from the same IP address (I assume,) but as long as you don't trade items or keep giving things to one another, they won't suspect the two of you for being one person :P

...I've given him over 100 stamps (from my account) together worth over 150k...

and I have another computer with a seperate internet conection (so different IP) and sometimes we play games at the same time.

Being on in two places at once is definately detectable. and since it's against the rules to begin with, i suggest you stop and be more careful. 2 people playing games is not allowed

If they're using different IPs, though, can it really be detected? o_O

They can detect your different IPs, but i suggest not sharing accounts, to be on the safe side, and besides from that, you can still do a lot of things together with seperate accoutns though, such as writing a neopian article, etc.

Although you are allowed to use any computer you want to access neopets, whenever two different computers are logged into and using neopets at the SAME TIME will get you frozen. Since this is virtually unavoidable if you share, I suggest that you both get seperate accounts.

Forgive me for asking a totally off-topic question, but what on EARTH is getting "smurf"-ed out in these questions? Or is someone just throwing the "smurf" in for entertainment value?

I'm guessing people are perhaps making a typo in the word "account" ^__^

I still don't know what that would turn into.

Hang on... ACCOUNT

Nope, it works.

EDIT: I suddenly realized what's going on. It kind of reminds me of Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story.

Oh my... that was the hardest I've laughed in AGES! I'm not sure how I managed to type smurf... was definately not on purpose. However I do love the smurfs. Funny stuff.
