When something is *too* rare?

Thu Feb 09, 2006 1:33 am

The item in question would be my Mipsy Plushie that I was rewarded with after completing the Original Treasure Map. Now, from what I've gathered from

A. Not finding the item as buyable on the shop wizard

B. Averaging the item at about 1.5 Mil on the Trading Post

and

C. The high amount of plushie collectors on Neopets

I'd assume this to be a high demand item and I'd have no problem selling it. (I have no use for such trivial things as plushies, however cute they may be!)

This is not the case though, so is this item TOO rare being that I've only found about ten including mine? Why do I have difficulties selling it?

WOE IS ME! :D

I think the trading post gives a distorted view on prices. Someone may have an item listed for 1.5 million, but you really dont know if it sold for that price or not. Also I searched the wiz with the gallerys option and found 11 just under the "j" and "a" heading.

Cool item, you should see how much you can get for it. Look for people with Neoquest or Acara galleries who might be looking for it, and drop them a line.

or someone with a plushie gallery.

I'd suggest my wife - Carolinerogan - but she doesn't have that kind of money, she'd be able to afford 250k max

I looked at galleries and saw about 40 with a Mipsy Plushie. It's rare, but not impossible to get. 1.5 million sounds just a bit high. Look around for plushie collectors with expensive plushies and, as was suggested, Neoquest item collectors with impressive galleries. Drop them a line and see if you can make a deal with one of them. :)
