Any ideas on how much I should sell the ATR? Could I get a Faerie PB plus some NP for it?

I'll hold the ROTL if you want, Huggles.

The ATR is around 600k, a faerie pb is well over a million, so I doubt you'd get anyone to make that trade.

I can only afford one of the 30k books, which all seem to be truly selling for around 200k to 250k - not TP prices, but looking at auctions. Books may be a good long term investment, then again they could be hts. I want at least one just because I want one. Trying to decide between Annals of Insanity and Snarkie Answers. Or getting a spike pit, which would leave me 13k - that's alot of key rings!

The scroll racks seem to be fluctuating. I got one yesterday for 17k, today I had to pay 25k for another one. The spike pits are still 78k to 80k, I guess not as many people were getting those?

RWR and RotL seem to be good investments, right now RWR is going for around 800k, RotL 3.7 to 4 mil. I think both would actually be higher if there weren't so many being sold atm.

Has anyone yet successfully auctioned an ATR yet? I keep seeing auctions at 750K+ and I am thinking of just buying 3 of these to auction.

I'm out to make NP baby!!! *drool

Well, I know at least one person who has bought one. Don't be fooled by the auctions though. People were wondering if ROTL were actually selling because there were so few bidders, but that's because auction snipers wait to bid at the very last minute. Unless it's incredibly underpriced, you won't see too many bids for anything that has more than 2 hours left.

I still haven't claimed my prizes...

Do you think the RotL is worth it? I'm not a very big battler, but I've always wanted some good weapons, but what about the other ring?

Tue Feb 07, 2006 4:01 am

Ring of the Lost has a large number of icons (10), as well as an (almost?) total darkness blocking, making it very good. The wedding ring has a variant icon damage of about 9, making it a decent weapon to get if you battle and didn't get enough points for the other ring, it's not worth buying.

Tue Feb 07, 2006 4:29 am

If you have enough points for RotL, I think it would be silly not to get it. It sells for a lot more NP than a wedding ring and a ATR combined. It doesn't matter if you're a battler or not. If you're not, sell it and buy some of the other plot prizes, and you'll have enough to spare for some nice PBs or what-have-you.

Well, I bought an ATR today (I may be the one Huggles was referring to, I'm not sure.) I paid 650k for it, but that was largely because I got impatient getting outbid on lower-priced ones over the weekend. I don't think you're going to get 750k in auctions for one, at least not yet.

can anyone tell me if the "handful of sand" is actually selling right now

Tue Feb 07, 2006 4:39 am

No.

I mean, just look at the wiz. Get some if you absolutely have to in order to spend your points, but buy anything else if you have more than 1k left.

Tue Feb 07, 2006 5:35 am

I'd rather just leave my points to rot then buy handfuls of sand with them... :D

In the previous split someone was asking if anyone knew why people weren't being credited with the "understands scroll" phase. There was a suggestion somewhere that it has to do with the order you did things in - i.e. it was possible to read the scroll & understand it before finding the statue telling you which scroll to read, and if things weren't done in the right order you didn't get credited.
In my case I know that did and didn't happen. I *may* have accidentally read the scroll first before we knew what we were supposed to do, but after finding the statue I then went back and read the scroll. If that's why I wasn't credited then it seems VERY unfair.

That was me asking...

I knew I would be locked out after reading a scroll, so I waited until I found my statue symbol before I read any library scrolls. I did, however, attempt to get past the guards once before I knew the scroll was the key. I hope that wasn't it :(

Can anyone help me prove a theory on which symbol each of us were assigned?
I think that the symbols were assigned/grouped by the same letter grouping that the shop wiz uses i.e., those whose username starts with D, Q, or 3 were Djo. I know that is true for my username (starts with Q) and I believe Dolphinling was also Djo....

Watching which keyrings were prevalent in whose shops made me think of this.

Edit: Since there are only 12 Plot symbols and there are 13 shop wiz username groups, the extra usernames were either spread among symbols or maybe dumped all into one.

I still haven't claimed my prizes. I think I'll get the RWR and one of the 30k books, and I'll have 19,300 points left.
I'm not sure, should I get the scroll rack? Its price varies a lot.

I was Ra, and my wiz search was s and f. That would explain why there were a disproportinate amount of ra's, and not enough of some of the rarer symbols, like the i and v search for example.

My username starts 'S', and I was also a Djo. If that fits your theory, I'm glad to help. If that blows any theories out of the water...
