Who broke the internets?

Mon Jan 30, 2006 3:39 pm

Neopets shops are very laggy right now. They're restocking pretty much one item at a time in shop number order - so shop 1 is almost done restocking before shop 2 begins.

Be careful with the refreshes, though. I just got shopbanned for the first time in two years a few minutes ago.

That's called wave restocks - shop #1 (food) restocks one item at a time, then when all the items have stocked it goes to shop #2, and when all those items stock it goes to the next shop.

Some people like it, and some people hate it (me.)

As far as I know, it's not the result of lag.

If they're slow for everyone, you might want to use the petpage server. When you get to a page, type in petpages.neopets.com at the beginning of the url. It's much faster. I use it to play neoquest II.

That's a freezable offense. Neo has stated before that the other neopets servers (petpages, etc.) are only for use by the neopets staff.

I'd recommend that you stop using those servers now, I've heard of people being suspended for that.

Oh. I didn't know that. Anyways, it's the server that comes up when you go to a petpage.

I think that those servers are only for use for viewing the pages that they host - petpages are for petpages only, and it's home and dev that are unusable for anyone but staff.

Anyway, rolling restocks won't be thwarted by switching to a different subdomain, since the database that creates/stores items is on yet another set of servers.
