Trading Post Offers

Is there anyway to offer more than 800000 pure NP at the trading post. i want to buy a faerie paint brush which will obviously cost a lot more than that, but I don't know how to offer anymore than 800000NP. In the past I've bought items that are worth the rest of the NP, and added them to the offer, but it's always rejected. I'm not keen on auctions unless they're private so what can I do?

Neomail the person, tell them to put in on auction. Have them alert you when it goes up, and then bid on it through the auction house.

I like shapu's idea. Alternatively, you could ask the owner what item they'd like to make up the rest of the cost and get it. If they've got a wishlist, it's that much easier.
