Neopean Bank Interest

Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:49 am

Is there a list that details the amount of interest each type of bank account gives you? I.e., at the half million mark, you get 10% of your savings annually (assuming you take out your interest each day).

I believe it goes up by 0.5% interest for each upgrade to the account.

So, if 10% is for 500,000 which is Diamond Deposit Gold,

Junior Saver (min 0) 5%
Neopian Student (min 1,000) 5.5%
Bronze Saver (min 2,500) 6%
Silver Saver (min 5,000) 6.5%
Super Gold Plus (min 10,000) 7%
Platinum Extra (min 25,000) 7.5%
Double Platinum (min 50,000) 8%
Triple Platinum (min 75,000) 8.5%
Diamond Deposit (min 100,000) 9%
Diamond Deposit Plus (min 250,000) 9.5%
Diamond Deposit Gold (min 500,000) 10%
Millionare Platinum (min 1,000,000) 10.5%
Millionare Double Platinum (min 2,000,000) 11%
Millionare Mega-Platinum (min 5,000,000) 11.5%
Neopian Mega-Riches (min 7,500,000) 12%
Ultimate Riches (min 10,000,000) 12.5%

I currently have a Diamon Deposit Plus account - I get about 80 np per day interest. But just imagine with an Ultimate Riches... That's 1.250.000 per day for which you have to do nothing at all. If you're rich, you stay rich, it seems.
- Just like in real life.

EDIT: Mmm... suddenly the idea of 'saving to be rich' doesn't seem so silly anymore. Save up to 1 mil, collect 105k each day, and from ther, just work your way up. :D

You wouldn't get 105K per day, but per year. You'd only get 105K/365 per day.

So if I actually saved up 10 mill NP, I'd only get 12.5% interest? That's... that's almost 3.5K a day from interest. :o

Ok, new goal! :D

Dang! Lesson # 1: If it looks too good to be true, it is.

If you have 15 mil in the bank, then you get 1875000 per year in interest, which comes out to about 5136 per day.

Well, 5k/day is still a pretty good deal.

This isn't terribly pertinent to the discussion, but if you withdraw to below the account minimum, you keep your account level and interest rate. I just found that out the other day.

But beware, you can actually demote yourself in the account type, and if you dont have enough money and accidentaly do this, you might be stuck like this for a while (though I dont see why this would ever happen)

really? coz I got to the millionaire platinum account a short while ago, and then promptly went on a petpet shopping spree - I didn't go below 850k, but my account has sort of hovered around 950k for a bit after that. how much money can you spend before they demote your account? or is it a matter of how long your account stays under the minimum required amount?

on a related note, I had a bit of trouble with upgrading my account type. I think it said that I couldn't deposit more than 1 mil np at a time, but if I upgrade my account to millionaire double platinum, it says you're supposed to deposit 2 mil at the same time? how does that work?

They never demote your account. I had the 500,000 Np for about 6 months now, because I have bought the lab ray(full) and I have just bought stocks with the excess(havent sold any yet). I havent had 200k+ since october

That's just your minimum balance, not your minimum deposit. Put your account up to 1,999,999 neopoints, then go to "upgrade" and deposit 1. You'll get the upgrade, no problem.

oic, kewl thx!
when i upgraded my account, I took out like 990k so I could make the 1 mil deposit and I was afraid the tax beast would show up or something. XP

This only works if you go to the upgrade thing, and say you want to upgrade to a junior saver account, effectively demoting yourself. No, neopets will never demote you, you have to do this yourself
