Monday was an American national holiday... but aren't they still headquartered in the UK? Ah, well. So much for me sticking up for them. But, if I may be contrary for a moment, "updating content" does not neccesarily mean adding
new content...

It's in the US--California if I'm correct. I remember Adam speaking about the TNT Head Quarters in the U.S and him going back to England to visit his family.

Well then, the holiday is a viable excuse. This time.

The TNT office is located in the US.

Uhhh... Sunday was a holiday, not monday...
We celebrate the 4th, not the 5th....
God help us if you're an american...
And TNT is located in Glendale, CA; that's where neopets.com is registered to as well.

It was more an observance because the 4th occured on Sunday actually.

Monday (yesterday) was a US federal holiday because of the 4th of July. When there is a federal holiday that falls on a Sunday, everything is closed on Monday in observance of that holiday. Same for Christmas, etc. Banks, courts, post office, trash pick up - most businesses were closed.
So, yes, probably there was either a small staff or no staff in the offices yesterday for the holiday.

So they turn it into Independence weekend? I haven't seen a holiday extended that much since my mom and mother's day which essentially became mother's month.

Hmm, well where I am in the US I don't usually see any new News until around midnight, so I guess we should just wait and see if there is any News later on today.
And they may just be concentrating on trying to fix whatever is making the entire site lag big time right now.

So just to clarify, does everyone in the United States get the day off today or is it just TNT?

Technically it was yesterday, and just about everyone had the day off except for like fast food, pizza, etc. kind of places. But all the state and federal buildings/services were closed, public transportation was on a holiday schedule, even my roommate had the day off (if her office had their way, everyone would have to work on Christmas).
So I guess kind of think of today as "Monday" or the beginning of the work week.
