I went out today and bought a copy of the Neopets: The Darkets Faerie game, and while it does give you a promo card(I got Roberta. ^.^) There is no rare item code. Am I the only one who thinks this odd? About the only other product that I know of that neopets has that DOSN'T have rare item codes are store plushies, which arn't packaged in a way that can hide the codes. (The MD ones do have them of course, because they are packaged to hide the code)

I agree with you, there should be a Rare Item Code in there! >_O That's a serious oversight on Neopets part, and somewhat disapointing too. Surely they can hide a code inside the packaging somewhere?
Can you earn codes from the game though?

Now thats a good question...I dunno, I won't have a chance to play the game untill this evening. If we can, then all shall be forgiven. xD

You earn the codes throughout the game (though only once so you can't just rent the game then get them all and return it)

Nope, that was only on the PS1 game. You can't earn any codes from this one.

Sorry. I worded it badly I guess. The game *just* released
was going to be for PS1, and it was going to have codes throughout the game. But then the PS1 game was cancelled and remade into the PS2 game, which according to screenshots of the PS1 game, this one is infinitely better.

Ah, okay, thanks for clarifying.
Okay, so that officaly sucks...no RIC, whatsoever. Boo. I paid good money for this! >_O

I was hoping for RICs in the game as well, or at least one in the package. I think it's a bit of carp that there isn't any, but maybe Sony or whoever made the game didn't agree with that? We're picking up our copy today. I was so excited to get it on the first day until I realized the 15th was yesterday. >.< lol

Whats it matter if the item is rare or not? Obviously millions all over the world will be b

I think your missing the point...
most neopets products come with whats CALLED a rare item code, but it dosn't always give anything that great. But the neopets video game came with no code. Rarity has nothing to do with anything.
And there is a chance its a decent item, but its pretty low.

Yup no rare item code, I think someone already posted that somewhere in this forum... a link to the developer questions and answers

Yep, that's where I read it.
It's not getting a rare item that's the issue, it's being able to get something from spending so much on the game. Heck, I'd be happy with any game-related item on the site from a code. I don't care if it's worth little. The fun of entering the code and having a slight chance of getting something really nice and collecting the interesting items is what I love about RICs.

Maybe the adjective "rare" is meant to describe "code" and not "item"?

With the trading cards come Random Item Codes. I think those would have been just as good.
