Does lab-zapped petpets give avatars?.

Curious question;
Do lab-zapped petpets give avatars if they are a certain age?.
For instance, if I zapped a 400 day old Spyder into a Snowbunny, would I receive the "Whee!" Avatar?.

And also, I'd like to ask this unrelated question. It has nothing to do with the petpet lab ray.
Do petpets have to be their original colour to receive avatars? Will a faerie harris not work unless it's plain?.

Yes you can get avatars from lab zapped petpets of the right age As long as you remember though that the lab can completely get rid of your petpet - mine became extinct before I got any avatars, heh.

Also any colour of an avatar petpet will give you the avatar which is nice and handy. I forgot one of my pets had a gruslen as it was a mutant one which looks very un-grusleny - the avatar took me somewhat by suprise

yup, like *poof* as in petpet go bye-bye forever. This happened to me just yesterday in fact. kinda sucks because he was a pretty old petpet.

I wish neopets had put an FAQ up about the petpet lab ray, having your petpet exterminated isn't an uncommon zap but it seems like a lot of people aren't aware of the risks and lose a much loved petpet =(

I was too afraid to use the lab ray on my snowbunny because he was SO close to being 365 days old (366 today! Got the avvie!) and I didn't want to take the risk of him changing into something else. Now I don't care, so I'll probably zap it a bit. ^_^
