First Crystal

Help me!!!! Please. I have been sticking with the LDP plot for a while now but I'm stuck and can't get past the first crystal. I feel like a moron. I followed the instructions, matched up the colours to the symbols then looked in the directory to find out the locations of the scrolls, I followed the order according to the colours on the top of the crystal, I read all of the scrolls in order....Guess what??? Nothing happened.
Someone please help. Just assume I'm an idiot and explain to me in very slow and simple terms what I'm supposed to do

But for starters, don't pick out scrolls according to the order on the tablet. After you've determined what scrolls you need to read, arrange them by color order (as determined by the three colors on top of the crystal) then read them in card catalog order. Ex: when reading blue scrolls, read the ones you need from the top of the catalog, then go on downwards.
