how do you get nerkmids (like basic golden nerkmid)?

The appear in random events. Best way to get them is off of the shop wizard.

yeah, apparently the only place they come from are
1) Random Event: you find a nermid on the floor
2) ranom event: an alien aisha gives you a nerkmid
3) Quests... there is a chance of you getting one from taelia.
4) Alien aisha machine thing. Put in a nerkmid, and another might come out.
thats about it.

Yup, those are the only ways I can think of of getting a nerkmid, lest someone gave me one. Very unlikely methinks.

Does anyone know what buttons and things to press on the vending machine to get good items? I never seem to get anything good...

From what I know it's purely random, there's no combination that guarantees a win.

Yup! You can. I recieved the normal one from her a few months ago, It was quite the pleasant surprise.

you forgot that you can also buy it from the Igloo Garage Sale, they do get sold out quickly for about 1k and a bit..

Really? I've never seen one there. Maybe I should restock there more often.
