i know that this has been there for a while but i am just wondering, did we ever figure out what its purpous was, or was it just something to ammuse us?

We never did. I think it's just there to make people like us waste countless hours of our days pondering.

Well obviously it's there to show us how prosperous we are and how we should be thankful that we have not been simply discarded.
