Metro Newspaper in UK

Wed Oct 26, 2005 7:21 am

I picked up my newspaper as usual this morning - its free - and was astonished to see this on the front page in the corner:
Image
I opened it up to page 10, hoping for either an article on Neopets, or an interview with Adam or Donna.
Instead, its an interview with a bloke who specialises in the psychology behind alien abductees. Theres a program on UK telly tonight with him on it.

I wonder if they got the image by random (no neopets copyright notice on it), or if they actually have someone in their office who plays.

Should I report the lack of copyright to TNT?

EDIT: This is the guy - http://uk.news.yahoo.com/26102005/80/alien-abductees-prone-false-memories-expert.html

Grundos aren't aliens! They're just cute Neopets!

The author of the article must've not known what neopets is!

If that was the case, how would they find the image to use?
There are millions of images of aliens on the web, and they just happened to come across the grundo?

Googling for 'cute alien' does give me, among other pictures, a baby gelert and an usuki...

'Alien pet' includes a cloud eyrie.

'Space pet' pops this, which of course gives a link to the space adoption agency, where the pink grundo picture is from.

Though why they'd be googling for 'space pet' I don't know. :P

Arogance, I would report it to Neopets. After all, their legal department would undoubtedly be interested in something like that and who knows maybe they will reward you with a nice RE! Or, if you ever get into any trouble, might at least remember you as being that nice person who helped them out.

It does indeed. Especially now they've started putting Sudoku puzzles in them

And Morningstar - I'm not sure where to report this, so I send it via the advertising link.

Where should I send it?

Arogance, send an email to mailto:legaldepartment@neopets.com, attention: Stephanie Yost Cameron.

Well, even if they did google alien pet or something and saw a grundo that wasn't the one in the newspaper, they'd have to have an account to even access the adoption agency. So I think the image was just googled - or maybe they colorfilled it with a different color?
