Shop Page Revamped!

Sat Oct 08, 2005 1:25 pm

Wow. It looks nice now. Too bad they didn't do the bazaar yet, but I'm sure it won't be long from now.

EDIT: There's also a loading graphic that appears if it takes awhile for the image to load. I'm not sure how new that is, but it's the first time I've seen it.

The change happened like a week ago. :)

Like the changes though

I was thinking the same things - albeit a week ago, at least.

Really? Goodness, where was I last week? :P Maybe my computer didn't uncache the page until now.

I don't like the style of the new shops page. I think the bright colors are prettier like on the bazaar page. A lot of the graphics on Neopets are taking on that drab childrens-book-illustration look. Bleh.

Probably because you view most areas in HTML, the new shop-area only comes in Flash.

ONLY flash. That was a huge problem... Made me waste some time to update my Flash Player. Argh

Yup, not very new anymore, been around for more than a week xP

But I don't like it x.x It looks so crowded and dark and everything's drawn like it's a gnome's house.

My thoughts exactly!

Maybe Boochi has changed his ray to gnome and started zapping buildings :P

Yea, that and all the nasty ads that neopets have now are slowing down the loading times of the pages drastically

Those of you who use FireFox with adblock, how are you able to see the Shops page? I just started using it and I can't figure out how to get it so I can see it. I wish they hadn't changed it to flash.

I've got adblock on and can see it perfectly.

What type of adblock filters you have?

Ah, that would explain a lot.

I like the change. Though it's cluttered, it looks neater and less like some of those shops were just pasted in there.

Yeah...I just started using it as well and am having the same problem. I also can't load Flash games. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm using the following which I found on another post:

Step 1: If you don't have Firefox already, get it here. Configure it, etc.
Step 2: Download these 2 extensions in Firefox after installing the browser -
AdBlock 0.5.2
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/exten ... dows&id=10
ChromEdit
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/exten ... .php?id=17
Step 3: Restart Firefox, then click on Tools - Adblock - Preferences
Step 4: Add 3 new filters:
http://images.neopets.com/buttons/*
http://images.neopets.com/728ads/*
http://images.neopets.com/ads/*
Click Add button to save them. Then click done.
Step 5: Go to Tools - Edit User Files, then click on the userContent.css tab.
Step 6: Scroll all the way to the end, then enter a new line:
#ban { display: none !important; }
Click the Save button.
Step 7: Restart Firefox and enjoy an ad-free NeoPets experience.
