Could I be frozen for this?

Sat Oct 08, 2005 7:53 am

Hi everyone, this is just crazy. I was pricing my items and just happened to find an orange negg on the wiz for 2222,,, so I bought it, and put it in my shop along with the other negg I had, and priced them both round the 21K..

Soon after I get this neomail

hi i accidently put my orange negg in my shop up for 2222 u brought i ti was ment to put in in for 22222 and thants not fare because u are really rich and im so pour may i please have it back for the smae amount or ill tell the neopet team

I wrote back to them and said I would put it in the trades and they can bid 2222 on it, and that they should check their prices before hitting enter, I was friendly etc., anyway, they didnt bid on my trade, nor neomail back anything.

I end up just giving them the orange negg about 15 mins later..

Im worried now, after having so much bad luck on the site after not doing anything wrong that they are going to tell TNT. like they threatened too,

What should I do now? has this ever happened to anyone else?

thanks in advance for the advice,

SS:)

People price at thier own risk. Any error is THIER FAULT. You are not liable and need not return an item which is mispriced. Any deals are your own good fortune.

Yep, indeed.

You can't get in trouble for buying something someone mispriced.
It was a fair deal. I was surprised to read you returned it. o.o;

exactly just because they priced it wrong it doesn't mean you have to give it back like stampsyne said it's their fault they should of priced it right you shouldn't have given it back and I doubt TNT would freeze you for that

There's been a scam going around recently where people price things incorrectly and then neomail the person asking for it back so they can sell it again (and getting whatever the initial person paid for it in the first place).

People price at their own risk, you were not required to give it back and frankly I don't think you should have. It was extremely nice of you to even consider selling it back to them but frankly if it had been me I would have just blocked the person. At least it would have taught them to be more careful next time.

I absolutely hate when people argue this poor and rich thing when trying to get their own way too :x

Ah, I remember the old days when cards were for more than just quests. I found a shop selling about 20 for 1np each - apparently giving them to a friend. I bought them all and sold them for 700 profit each. :D No you can't be frozen for it.

It's their fault they mis priced, if they miss priced a grey pb for 10k, would you give it back? I wouldn't, not because I'm mean but because I paid for it at the price they asked for so it's mine. And did you get your nps back from the guy? More or less I think they scammed you out of 2222np

Nope, no way you could have been frozen for something like that. You weren't breaking any rules, you didn't use any programs or anything to buy that item, you bought it the normal way xP It was the other person who mispriced their item, and that fact has nothing to do with you.

You did absolutely nothing against the rules. You simply purchased something from a shop. Nothing at all wrong with that. (In fact, I found a Plushie Paint Brush for 99999 when I first started playing and made a lot from it.)

Now, sometimes mistakes do happen. The person may have accidentally priced something wrong. That is his mistake and you are under no obligation to do anything about it.

If that happened with me, and the person asked me /nicely/ to sell it back, I would. This person threatened instead, and that was incredibly rude. Because of that, I wouldn't have sold it back to him.

Either way, there was nothing that could have gotten you frozen, or even warned. It's too bad that you lost the NP from that. You should tell him to give you the NP back or you'll tell TNT. (Kidding about the last part.)

Thanks everyone for the reassuring responses :)

Yes, Id lose 2222 myself as they didnt answer my mail back and so like I saying I just sent it to them.

So then I get up this morning and they ask me if I can put the negg up in the trades so they can bid on it..

I wrote back telling them that I already gave it to them for FREE and that it cost me 2222 NP doing so.. and that I wont be putting up a trade so they can get a 2nd one..

I guess now its my word against theirs if they say they never got what I sent..

Grrrrr

No, it's not your word against theirs. Neopets tracks transactions. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. You can report the person if they keep harassing you.

Although they are also not obligated in any way to return it to you after you sent it to them.

Sun Oct 09, 2005 7:37 am

You will not get frozen, all trades/transactions are final, they priced at 2222nps because they were not careful

Sun Oct 09, 2005 10:51 pm

You NEVER have to give back the item unless you want to. That's called wiz sniping, its their own darn fault for not checking beore they hit Enter!

If people ask nicely I give back their item at the same price. However I woul never give it back if I was being threatened by some illiterate nub :x

*Ah classic*

Nope you are not obliged nor required to return the items which they mispriced. It is their own fault not yours, so you need not worry about it.
