Maybe it's just some luck I have, but I always found only clicking the tail side of the coin nets me far more wins then heads. Just refesh till you see the tails side and click, you can always refresh during each flip.
I dunno if this will help anyone else, but I got the avatar doing that.

This isn't a particularly fun one to get, but at least I got a codestone RE playing it, so my attempts at getting the avatar shall be paid for. ^_- *tosses coin again* Drat.
