For Neopets ONLY discussion.

Many people have had the same idea, we just need to find each other to get the most people to participate.
This guy started the a couple of months ago:

Personally, I think it's silly. I don't want to be involved, and I think that people who do are doing it for the sake of being involved in something.
It's not going to acheive anything, no-one will even notice, and then you'll look silly
(no offense to you personally hunny!)

I, for one am not participating in "The Day of Action."

A question:
How are we going to look silly if the plan is to not be on Neo for a whole day? As you said, it's not like people will notice.

I dont think that's why, I think it's because they're tired of the glitches and unfair freezings... that's why I joined it anyway.

Ooh, wow! 200 silly people aren't going to spend their entire day on Neopets! Oh no! The site is gonna go down for sure!

Hmm, I don't think it's fair to make fun of people if one hasn't read what the day of action is really about. The author of it knows the boycott won't make much difference but wrote the article on the proviso that it would bring to attention the apparant lack of care on Neopets' part to its loyal users.

Trust me, twinkly, I have more than enough to be involved in. I am doing it to make a difference because I am tired of Neopets' general policy of noncompensation for glitches (another one today--bought a faerie, paid 5000, and hey, no faerie in my inventory--surprise, surprise). The letters that I send to the sponsors during the time that I would have been playing will get noticed. I'll let you know if any of them say that I look silly, 'kay?

just because you know you will lose doesnt mean you give up the good fight...
i will participate, if not for the mere reason that im banned from neo. I hate(yes, hate) their freeze policy. they dont know the harm they cause to customers and themselves, if just to catch a few autobuyers that can make new accounts and proxies ANYWAYS.

Well said. Will it make a difference? No. Will I do it anyways? Yes.

Wait.. am I blind? I can't find the page detailing the Day of Action. If so, I'd definitely participate. It wouldn't make a difference, probably, but you gotta start somewhere. It's like in real life, when a person stands on the street and starts handing out leaflets. Most people are going to throw the leaflets away, but one or two people will read them, and then it'd spread. This is how most revolutions got started; a small minority decided to do something, and eventually they succeed.

The page is no longer on PPT's main page, but you can find it on the website neoextreme.com. It was written by a person named Dana, according to the admin of neoextreme. I highly suggest reading it. Before I read it, I was quite wishy washy about the whole thing. After reading it, I am in. And you can ask anyone, I am not very easily swayed when it comes to changing my opinion.

Well, I just came back from holiday, so I hadn't seen the boards below this this board. I've now seen the (many) threads on this. But thanks a lot!

It will fail.

No one disputes that. On the other hand, no one cares.
People want to make a point. Whether people listen to it is irrelevant.
Sure Neopets won't care/will ignore it. And it won't be the first time that Neopets Inc. won't care/will ignore it.
That's the point.
At least its mine.
