Didn't they say that "Everyone Wins??!"

They didn't say ANYWHERE that everyone who enters win :
Every week or so we will be running a Random Contest. What you will be asked to do will vary from competition to competition. You may need to write the most bizarre poem, create a Neopets sock puppet, or absolutely anything. Winners will receive a snazzy avatar, a special item and a Neopoints prize. The prizes may vary from contest to contest. To see winners of previous contest, click here.

Nope, I don't see where it says "everyone wins" either.

in the description of the last RC, it did indeed say that everybody wins. i should know, i was posting all over the neoboards about it, thinking it would gain people clues.

Yeah. I think I remember it saying "everybody's a winner", but I guess that can be taken in many ways.

It definitely said Everyone's a Winner ... that's the only reason I entered, as I couldn't really think of anything truly witty, or this special "magic" word they were looking for.

The phrase "everybody wins!" or "everyone's a winner!" is very, very common.
And it is NEVER literal. Come on, were you guys born yesterday? Variations of that phrase are used everywhere as figures of speech (just meaning that everyone will be happy in some stupid way) and are most often used in a mocking, sarcastic manner i.e. situations like "I'll be happy you're dead, you won't know the difference because you're dead....everyone's a winner!!!!"

I just had a horrid thought -- maybe they
told us the magic word, and most all of us missed it: "Everyone" is a winner.
Or was it: Every "one" is a winner?
Which was it in TNT's text, btw -- "Everyone" or "Everybody"? I certainly don't recall, and I'm not trudging through the past plot discussion threads to find the quotation.
There's at least one person on PPT forums who was among the winners (well, the second-place winners) -- did your response include such a word?
(And one thing I haven't figured out on RCs of this kind -- if there is
a magic word, how are there 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places?)

Can any of the winners recall some "special" word in his or her entry? I'm just curious to know what it was... most probably "asparagus" (although I think I might have used it too and I didn't win...) or something like that...
Sat Sep 24, 2005 1:20 pm
I remember it saying that too, that's why I entered as well, and I didn't win.
Sat Sep 24, 2005 1:55 pm
I put asparagus in my entry, didn't win, wasn't expecting to though.
When it says "Everyone's a winner" or "Everybody's a winner" TNT meant it like this:
I can't remember exactly what it said, but something about that they came up with another meaningless contest, and that someone (writers maybe? I dunno) would be happy because of it. They said everyone/body's a winner because they achieved making up a new contest, and it would appeal to certain people.
Something to that effect anyways. They didn't say everyone who entered the contest was a winner, just that everyone's a winner. It's like me saying I need to get rid of my basket of apples, and you want to buy a basket of apples, well hey everyone's a winner we get what we both want.
....I probably just confused a lot of people, but yea, I tried to explain
Sat Sep 24, 2005 1:57 pm
Well from what i heard it did say Everyone's a winner.
But listen to it again.
Everyone Is A Winner
TNT just said that everyone is a winner. It just means anyone and everyone who takes part is a winner. Maybe it is also one way to make more people take part in the competition... You never know...
Sat Sep 24, 2005 2:33 pm
I won, and I certainly did not mention asparagus - so it wasn't that. I've been trying to figure out what it actually was, but I don't remember exactly what my entry was so that makes it a lot harder...
Sat Sep 24, 2005 3:00 pm
I won too and I didn't save my entry,(doh!) >.<
One of the other winners neomailed me about the "magic" word too. I remember having Adam in my entry, but thats about it, I basically ranted in my entry about how there's way too many tombs and how adam probably stuffed all the tombs with asparagus
EDIT: The person who neomailed me has their entry on their lookup

Maybe we'll see something common
Sat Sep 24, 2005 3:34 pm
I think the most likely suspect is the word
everyone, the person who won has it in their entry
I think everyone will agree that my Comb prophecy answers your question
so
everyone is a winner, meaning if you have 'everyone' in your entry, you win.
