How Many Active Neopians Are There, Really??

Fri Jul 02, 2004 5:49 am

If there are umpteen million odd accounts on Neopets, why is it that Twisted Roses Concert in Tyrannia has only sold 26,000 tickets in 23 hours??

TODAYS BAND : Twisted Roses

There are 128,000 tickets for today's gig... and we only have 106,350 left!
Come on... what are you waiting for?

Probally because no one wants them.

Um, I kinda doubt that. Twisted Roses is one of the more sought-after concert tickets in Neopia. I always get excellent resale prices for them in my shop...

Because alot of people playing the site don't want to buy the tickets or they just don't know such thing exists.

actually, they really arent the most saught after band anymore... most tickets are kind of pointless. i mean, look what they are worth... 1,200 nps. Thats not even profit, thats LOSING 50 neopoints! And you dont even have to have a ticket to see the concert, you just go the flash URL. Its really pointless, i say... so selling all that junky tickets would probably take a while.

Well, Thank you.

I've never seen them, so I bought a ticket to see this gothed out gals. :)

Thanks for the heads up!

**edit** ...what a waste. I think my ears have started bleeding.. o.x

Do you really think that's fair to sneak into a concert without even buying a ticket? They should really start freezing people for sneaking into concerts, because it's not fair to the other players that pay for their tickets.

That's ridiculous. Now if people were gaining the items (t-shirts, keyrings, whatever) without paying, that would be different.

They ARE gaining the items, because they don't pay for their tickets, they are able to buy these other items.

I've seen the concerts, and you don't get the option to buy the merchandise when you don't pay for the ticket. But I can buy any item I want. On the Shop Wiz

Yeah, all you are really doing is viewing the flash file of the concert - it's not like a secret way to go the page where your pet actually 'views' it and gets a souvenir.

They ARE gaining the items, because they don't pay for their tickets, they are able to buy these other items.

As I've stated above, you are just viewing the flash file, and you don't get anything, except cool music. And the neopoints you have on hand are yours anyway - you aren't gaining anything new by viewing the concerts.

the actual number of players playing the site at any time is less than 10,000. if you go to the world page and refresh, you'd see that the page view increased by abt 10,000 every few seconds.

Wow, you pay attention, don't ya! That's cool, I never thought to figure it out like that!

As for actual people playing the site, You could probably mulitply that number by 3 (to account for timezones), and then again by 3 (for time spans...), since some people play early in the morning, others at work, and others still when they get home from work/school. And others (like me) play in the middle of the night! Then you've got to account for the people (me, again) who are on more than once per day... there's no way to tell, really! *has confused herself*

yeah, i have taken account and at any time, i suspect the number of players is far less than 10k. 10k is achieved if say, 10k players refresh the page once every few seconds but that' sprobably not true since it is likely that there are more than one refresh from each player every few seconds. yep, i agree that the number of active players may be more than that but i noticed that the number of active players actually playing the site at any time is abt 10k at the most since a restocker has the world page in view constantly

Fri Jul 02, 2004 10:49 am

Well, you can't really expect someone to go to a different page every second. Perhaps 10k people went to a different page at the same second, or the same few seconds. And then the next second, another 10k people went to some page.
