Once again, the price of codestones has inflated significantly, currently at 5,600 NP without the possibility of parole- errr, with just ONE comic out and no guarantee of a war! Where do you think the price will end up at this time?

Shouldn't go higher than 5.9k, I figure ...

Codestones last war went to 8k... but that was with the supporter role. I'd say more like 6.5.

Yep, these will hit 6k before a war is een officially called. If one is called they will rise maybe to 7k, but if no war is called, they'll drop back down very fast.

It'd be a fun change I'd suppose, not having a War. It would make so many people upset (The ones who hoard Honey Potions and other items) that I'd make me happy...
I'm sorry lol.
But Codestone inflation isn't a new thing. It just is lol.

Whee, I love this. I've been saving Codestones for a while. And I believe I have around 47 in my SDB.
Nice profit for me.

Prices have deflated by 200 NP- Thankfully, I hadn't invested. There looks to be a possiblity of war, though- I'll wait for them to drop some more.

Ok my prediction is...
Highest: 9k - 10k
Reason- Due the the PATHETIC (yes it was) last war, people would most likely expect a VERY GOOD war this time around.
Good War = Good Rewards, Story,Prizes..etc
Therefore, more people take part. More taking part the demand is higher and thus increasing the price furthur.
Prediction On Recovery Rate: 6mths

Yesss I love codestone inflation. I never sell my codestones except during wars so I'm going to wait until war is called and the prices rise even more until I sell the 14 I have sitting in my SDB.

I've been hording up for quite a while, a horded up loads of leaf shields at like 8.5k and now they've gone up to 17k.

I'm very surprised that TNT is not going to do something to stop the runaway inflation especially of one and two dubloon coins, and codestones, especially when in the past few weeks, Neopets has actually worked fairly hard at evening out what is a very badly bowed in Lawrence Curve. A Lawrence Curve is a diagram that describes the distribution of wealth. On Neopets a wealthy few (a lot of us on this board) have a disproportionate share of the wealth, and the majority have very little of the wealth.
The monthly freebies, newbie packs, and World Challenge have all been ways to push the Lawrence curve out and make it flat (Currently the Neopets Lawrence Curve) is very bowed in. I'm one of those few folks who is actually not all the way at the top or bottom of the Lawrence Curve. I know this by what I have been able to afford to buy. Just look at my pets and you'll know how many NP I've been able to get together.
A culture with a bowed in Lawrence Curve can be a very ugly place. The have-nots see no way to become haves that is honest and this makes for a hotbed of cheating and scamming. It also makes for endless begging and oggling of the wealthy.
My guess is that Neopets will increase the supply of codestones and dubloons. A good long-term/permanent solution would be to make education/training a public good and sell it at a fixed price which would make it immune from inflation. Of course TNT should do something similar for paint brushes and not just those untradable standard color ones you find in a newbie pack. Who are they trying to fool? Kids aren't that dumb!

Surprised? Ye haven't been around too much then.
The Neopian economy isn't going to work n' follow zee fun ol' economic rules.
As much as we'd love to see an increase of supply in the Codestone/dubloons ... sorta thing has happened with the introduction of those avvies... inflation goes up through the wazoo... and the supply of those items aint changing.
*shrug* Can't do anything but try and make what you can out of it...
and kids... well... who knows.

Actually I think the prices are dropping again... And they really haven't risen That much. The Main Codestone did, but the rest hardly...
