How to edit in first place?

Sat Aug 20, 2005 1:59 am

I only get a view button and stats button when I try to edit a pet's page. We know HTML reasonably well from some non-neopets work, but this is very first time trying this capability under neopets. Some tutorials say there should also be an edit button, how do I get that button to display?

I asked this over in DFL forums and some folks though maybe because need to have parental permission form filled out?

We had though this too, and so we did email neopets 2 days ago to try and find out why, including if it is a permissions problem, but they amazingly have not responded yet, and the neopets help does not say one way or the other, at least that we can see. We do not want to get parental consent to do this unless it's an absolute must (the parental consent for does not seem to list exactly what it allows either, again at least that we could see). Where is the best place, the best way, whatever, to try and reach somebody/somewhere at neopets to try and get a definitive/authoratative answer on this kind of thing? Anybody here know for certain? Thanks.

Yes, there should be an edit button above those two x.X

That's odd, I distinctly remember being able to edit my pet's pages a few years ago when my account was signed up as under 13 ... :/

It should be there. Can you try typing in "http://petpages.neopets.com/editpage.phtml?pet_name=YourPet'sName" into your address bar, and seeing if it takes you to your edit page?

If not, continue trying to contact Neopets. It may take quite a long time for Neopets to reply to your query. You're almost better off writing them a snail-mail letter, I would think...

It says that there is no permission, but it also seems to say that if we put in any name (whether we are logged in or not), hence making the error kind of ambiguous since it is not specfic enough :(

We have now tried this under MaxOS with IE and Safari, and under XP with IE with same problem, and furthermore, with another account, also with same problem. And also removing all cookies first. So it almost seems a feature, whatever that means. OTOH, a few people have said elsewhere that they don't recall needing permission either. Very frustrating.

Snail mail better? Ouch!
