I wouldn't think it was just the promotion that brought it to the game, it was more gradual over the time since it was first online.

I mailed back why I had made the offer, saying I could go a little higher, would that price be alright? Days went by without a reply, even though their lookup showed they were on. I wanted my neopoints back for interest, so I withdrew my offer, sending another neomail to the person saying that if they still wanted me to offer higher, I would, just reply and say so. I got a rude mail back saying something along the lines of "Duh, that's what I had said. Geeze, I was trying to be polite. I didn't realize that you were obviously incapable of reading between the lines." Gee, I didn't realize they were incapable of replying to a neomail.
