Side Accounts & Random Events

If we get a Codestone as a RE on our side accounts, are we allowed to send it over to our main account? Or do we have to keep it in the side account? I'm confused about the rules on this one, and don't want to get iced. Thanks for your help. :)

Certainly, Heck I even send items and money between two accounts, I havn't been iced or warned yet.

Technically, no, which sucks because my side account finds a codestone or map piece almost every day >< Then again I doubt you'd get caught over a codestone.

Yes, it is against the rules but I have no flippin clue what you're supposed to do with it if you do get one. You can't sell it or send it over. Use it I guess. Although the training school asks for a random codestone, and you can't make money on side accounts to buy the codestones they ask for, so there's not guaranteed way of you finally getting to use the one you found in the first place! (does that make sense?)

The whole thing with side accounts is stupid. We're not allowed to sell anything even if we keep the NP in the account (so what are we supposed to do with map pieces or other items given out in REs?). We can't play games. We can't do dailies. We can't do anything, really, except store pets there, and if we aren't allowed to do dailies or get any NP to buy anything, how are we supposed to feed them? I have a side account with a brown uni, a spotted gelert and a faerie pteri, and it's useless. All I ever do is get the monthly freebies thing (hopefully I won't get frozen over three pieces of cheap food and 2000 NP per month) and use that money to put them all in the neolodge. Boring.

I hope the new ToS explains better what we can or can't do, because right now it's all vague and not very well-enforced.

Where in the rules does it say that you are not allowed to have a shop on a side account? The rules say "Do not use your other accounts to attempt to gain an unfair advantage over other users by restocking, gaining trophies, etc." One would think that if you were not allowed to have a shop on more than one account that they would have included "have a shop on a secondary account" in that list of no-no's. But they don't. The fact that they say no restocking on another account sorts of leads one to believe that a shop is OK, as long as you don't restock to fill that shop. And, the fact that they now allow you to have both a shop and a gallery on each account adds proof that it is OK to have shops on more than one account.

I have had active shops on my main account and on my secondary account for years and nothing has ever happened. So, anything I get on my secondary account gets sold in that shop. However, I do transfer items between the two accounts--using the TP or the shop to do so. I price the item at fair market value and the other "buys" it--either through the TP or through that account's shop.

I think that the key is to not send red flares up during any transfer process. You aren't going to do that if it is a codestone or two. Several million nps, perhaps.

It's not in the rules right now, but apparently it's going to be, according to a staff member. It was reported in a recent "unreleased" thread... I'll see if I can find the post.

...Okay, found it. It's on this page -- the post by everconfused. :)

Yea cause wouldn't you open another account for your guild so it [your guild] can have a donation shop.

Twist your mind around this...Premium members get SHH mail for both their main and alias (if they created one).

Thanks everybody for the replies! I guess I'll quietly send my Codestone over to my main account, and hope that the TNT alarms don't go off down there in Glendale. Sheesh, what a hassle trying to figure out their rules, both written and unwritten!

I have gotten very few RE's on my accounts. I have gotten the occasional codestone (that would be the most expensive thing ever) - what I do is stash anything from a RE in the sdb on my side account. Then, if I do need to send food, any np to the side account I use that RE item as the "trade" so I can send things from my main account.

What else do I do? I wait - don't log into your side account, set up the trade, log out and log back into your main to place the bid of food, etc. I let the trade site for a few days.

I do hope that there is a clarification, as was promised to a few people by suport. And I hope that for once an update/clarification really DOES clarify things.

Q, I have premium and I have an alias. The only thing I do is go to the premium boards. The last time I tried to access the portal on my alias it was really weird - no neomail options - but that was a couple of months ago. If there are SHH coming to my alias, I guess I should check to see if neomail shows up and delete those. To me, that would be unfair and I guess? technically against the rules (even though TNT is sending them) to accept any SHH on my alias.

Well my friend once got a warning from sending from her side account to her main account because she found a secret lab map.. So I dont think they really like it...

Sat Aug 13, 2005 9:25 am

it can be confusing, but i have sent things from the side account to the main account. When i wanted to close down my side account and move the items to the main one i sent an email to neopets to tell them i was doing so.

...

What about if two or more people use the same computer? Me and my sister use the same computer on Neopets, and we send each other gifts all the time :o *worries*

I don't really see a reason to still allow people to make side accounts. You can make a gallery on your main account and still have a shop.
