11th August - Discovery of Brightvale!
The streets of Brightvale are filled with happiness today as the citizens celebrate just how great their might city is. The local farmers have managed to produce four new Fruits to commemorate this great day.
We are making some changes to passwords and logging in. If you create an account from Friday onwards, or if you change your password, you must now use a combination of letters AND numbers (or symbols).
We recommend you change your password to something with numbers and letters anyway as this will make it more secure and harder to guess.
There is a new Background for you to choose from featuring the rather impressive Brightvale Castle.
A new Lenny Conundrum competition has begun. The answer to last week's was H4. 1,822 people guessed the correct answer earning themselves 1,098 NP each.
The Scrollery has seven new magical parchments for your Neopet to use.
Congratulations Braikuvdawn and TheMusicTeacher. Your webpage - TheMusicTeacher's Musical Instrument Guide has just won today's Site Spotlight award.
The tailors at the Brightvale Armoury have been extra busy this week, creating all sorts of new designs.
If you visit Brightvale today, be sure to spin the Wheel of Knowledge. It is rumoured to be in a very generous mood today.

I've been waiting for someone to post the news....
Anyhow, quite intresting... The new password rule should cut down on hackings, and the warning about chainletters should stop spammers getting frozen.

And the wheel did reward me with something worthwhile.
Healed my pet. She was suffering from Neopox and I've been trying to get rid of them for a couple of days now. So I'm quite satisfied.

The art for the items on this update is WONDERFUL! A big pat on the back to the artist(s) from me! I know some staff visit here so it's worth a shot that maybe they'll notice the compliment I've gotta get the metal mote, I have an obsession with metalic shiny things. (Note the screenname ^_^) And maybe the wind scroll thingie.
And OMG @ random contest! I LOVE MAKING BALLOON ANIMALS!!!!!!! But all my stuff is at my dad's house, which is quite the drive away

Edit: and yay for the password rule, most pw guessers will quit trying now probably, I've heard of people making a big list of SNs off the newbie boards, then guessing "legolas" or something for each name on said list.

I was wondering if or when TNT would do something like the password thing. I've been on other websites that had the same thing and I thought it'd be a good idea for neopets to have the same.

Did anyone actually guess what they were without looking it up?
The new password rule is excellent! About time and that should help out a lot of younger people that get scammed/cracked.
As for the wheel being generous, it's probably like when the wheel of monotony is more generous or such like. The chances of something good are increased but I'm sure everyone would be like if every single person got a scroll and they became worthless. Increased generosity does not mean guarenteed generosity ^_^

I don't know, myabe it's just me, but the news reminded me of the old Neo. I mean, I can remember when they used to always remind us about scams and were always trying to update security. Kudos to TNT today

Three free spins in a row on the Booby Wheel of Knowledge and then the water faerie thanks me for taking good care of my pets. Most of my friends also ended up with the water faerie during their spin today.
