Has anyone gotten to level 32 in this quest? I was thinking of giving it a try since I need a Toxic Shroom to add to my gallery. I've got some NPs to throw away, but not millions. Is it worth a try?

Well, for me, by the time I got to 32, I had spent more than the reward was worth. But I got a trophy. 
And since you're after the shroom only to add it to your gallery, sure.

I've made to level 29, the Clockwork Rat then failed sometime after that but before the Toxic Shroom on level 32. (I can't remember which level exactly.)
Anyway it cost me 3 and a half million np to get that far. You might get lucky and get asked for some cheaper stuff but I see there is a Toxic Shroom for sell on the Tp for 800K.
I'd say your better off saving until you have enough to buy it off the TP. Because even with luck I don't think you can make to 32 with less than 800K.
