Glitchy Trading Post?

Sun Jul 10, 2005 2:26 am

My friend was loaning out her FQD for collateral for the last couple of hours.
She just loaned it out to a person via the Trading Post. She now has the other person's collateral, but the other person is telling her that she hasn't gotten the doll.
She's filed a bug report and is waiting, but I just wanted to warn everybody, in case this is a whole-site problem.

it could also be a trick on the other person's part.

I had that when i was loaning one out. They whined and said i never sent it and i found out they had lied about it and sold the doll 2 days later

What really stunk was the collateral was a food item that was Hard to sell. And when i did sell it they were down to 99k :/

That's what I'm starting to think. I have a feeling I'll be fundraising soon. :( (PS-I'm the friend)

Probably not... it wasn't a good deal.

*starts getting ideas for fundraising, etc.*

I just used the TP and didn't have a problem whatsoever. However, I am curtailing any further use--just in case (of course, it has to be the day I have several UB plushies on the TP).

But, it is the weekend. And the unscrupulous scammers/liars/cheaters tend to come out in droves on the weekend.

EDIT: And, I don't want to sound like I am preaching, but anyone lending needs to insist on good collateral. My daughter lends out avatar items and got burned a few weeks ago. "Oh, mom, the girl was so nice and had been on a long time, so I gave her a break." The girl never never gave the item back and never responded to my daugher's neomails. So, my daughter learned. It is pure nps or no deal.

Same thing happened to a guild member lending an item out to another guild member. It is customary in our guild to not even ask for collateral. We "trust" each other. This person had been a member for about 3 weeks. And, said he didn't get the FQD and wouldn't pay the guild person for its loss. Needless to say, he isn't in our guild anymore. But, my friend doesn't have her FQD either.

So, it sounds harsh to insist on pure, but it seems necessary anymore. Even with guild members.

yeah it is sad but true

It is a scam that alot of people like to use.. so please please please make sure you protect yourself by getting easy to sells and/or pure nps and make sure they equal the price of the item being lent..

otherwise you might get burned

Much of the avatars I got were from people wanting np collaterals just a little lower than the shop wiz.

One person did loan stuff out for free. I gave the item back when done, but I still think people lending avatar items via the "give to neofriend" option is a very bad idea. I can't but think that she will end up cheated a lot and will end up losing a lot of np. I guess she was really trying to advertise her BC entry, but I still thought what she was doing was risky.

But luckily the items she was lending weren't over 100k at the time. She was also asking me for a tip if I wanted to. I told her she could keep the item which was a junk item anyways. (some jelly I think)
