PPT World Challenge Accomplishments

Thu Jul 07, 2005 4:41 am

(( Note: I was going to put this in Gaming Help, but it wasn't really help, so I thought I'd put it here. If it doesn't belong here, mods, please feel free to move it! ))

Well, if you are as addicted as I am to the new World Challenges as I am, share it! This is the thread to brag and boast about all of your accomplishments in the World Challenges, as well as tell all of Neopia what your favorite games are so we can look for you on the lists!

I played Destruct-O-Match II. I played in 2 rounds, the first one I placed 10th due to not paying attention and unfamiliarity with how it works (I forgot to renew the challenge and kept sending my scores ), then the next one I placed first.

It's going to take a long, long time to get all of the map pieces

I don't get it..........

I kicked major keester in Escape from Meridell Castle for about 3 hours.. always had two more points then everybody..... i somehow got magical powers for that game and i can score a trophy score in that game in about 15 minutes :) thats when im not trying hard... ive yet to see a map piece thingy yet though...

Well, I was doing great in zurroball. At least until I realized the hour time limit. I had assumed that like the normal user challenges, they went on for a day. I scored 3500+ points for one and on my last click hit the restart game button as it fell. And always seemed to get matched with a decent player when I get lazy and send in a crappy score. I suppose I don't have many accoplishments yet. The top two seems awful slim as well. I'd think they'd at least include the top five.

I'm a little confused by this:

At the end of the hour, the top players with the most wins split up the Neopoints and receive a piece of a picture.

In games like Sutek's Tomb, you have to play well over an hour to get a high score. How are you supposed to get a lot of wins under an hour? Just randomly stop and hope you beat the other person? O.o

I was wondering that too, Jas. And also, it can take 10-20 minutes for your scores to even go through, so that's a sixth to a third of your hour gone right there if they aren't processed before the time's up. And sometimes some of them won't go through at all. I played four games of Volcano Run one hour, but only two of them counted on the main challenge page. When I clicked the little "scores" beside my name, it showed that I had won all four, but for some reason two of them just weren't counting. The whole system is still buggy and I don't like it. I agree that the time frame should be longer than an hour, and that the top 5 people should get prizes.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like the number of people who get map pieces changes depending on how many are in the hour's competition. Right now, there are 60 people playing Volcano Run, and the top 3 get map pieces. There are 126 people playing Meerca Chase, and the top 5 get pieces. So that's a little more fair.

It's kind of bulky: paying 10np to play a challenge, play the game, then come back and pay another 10np to challenge another person.

I got super high scores on Carnival of Terror ... I just didn't have the stamina to play the game over and over and over ~:> Beat my personal high of 1300!

Well, i got no idea how it works..

Does it goes like this: You pay 10np to issue a challange to someone. If you win the challange you get a piece of the map?

not entirely..
u accept or do challenges against people in any game.you have to make a bet of so many neopoints.if the perosn accepts is then it the challenge is fixed. then after the person has accepted it u play that game, the 1st score u send will be the score the other person tries to beat. if u win then u win the 'amount of neopoints that was bet' if u lose u lose that same amount.
at the end of a certain period (sorry cant remember how long it was) the points are tallied up and the people in the top ten (1 point=1 win) get a peice of a map according to the games place( e.g meerca chase is neopia central) and so on and so forth

I'm totally addicted to the World Challenges too. So far I've won 4 Haunted Woods Challenges. I came in first each time. All of them by playing Carnival Of Terror.

One thing to keep in mind, If you send score while you already have a score waiting to be processed that score will not count. You need to keep refreshing the page to see when the first score is processed before you send the second.

Also if your score doesn't get processed untill after the hour is up, that score will count towards the next hours challenge.

Do you get neopoints from your games up to the 3 plays as normal when you play for a challenge?

Thu Jul 07, 2005 1:50 pm

Hint:
Keep making new challanges and sending in scores, if its a game like suteks tomb, stop at a decent score and send it, what really matters here is not how HIGH the score is, but how MANY you send. Quanity instead of quality.

If your having trouble getting a match up, or not many people are playing, you may want to choose a more popular game.

Btw, NEVER choose wack-a-kass, people get 40+ wins on that game.

I got a peice for being in tenth place for hasee bounce-and I started half-way through! Gunna try at the start of the hour next time. ^^;

Am I the only one who got a neomail telling me I had gotten the map peice and 10 np? (YA! I'm rich! :P)

Yes, I look at is as a way to pay for making the challanges. ^^

The first part: Not with me, I sent fours scores in a row(Within about 3-4 miniutes of each other), all four were processed, I had no problems.

Where do you see the leaderboards? I've checked, but all I was able to find were my own scores. Btw, my own accomplishments include Ice Cream Machine and Destruct-o-Macth II. So far I've only been beaten once, on DoM II. ;)

I tried the Buzzer Game, myself, but no luck. I'm not bad at it, but you have to be fantastic to win a challenge.

This is going to sound like an odd question, but is there something special about the score "799"? Both the buzzer game leaders have been getting that score over and over and over and over and... you get the idea. One virtually nothing else, are they've played every challenge but one since 8pm NST last night. they get that score on a lot of other games, too.

Not to sound nasty but it makes me a tad suspicious.I don't see anything special about the score 799 that you should always get it in the Buzzer Game (or Kiko Match, or Ultimate Bullseye). Makes me wonder if someone's cheating... or if there's a glitch in the system somewhere.
