Merca Henchmen

Tue Jun 14, 2005 7:31 am

I hope someone here can help me.

I just can't seem to beat the meerca henchmen! Granted I don't have any good weapons (leaf shield, 2 ldd, HP) but surely there is something out there that doesn't cost milliuons that can help me...?

Any advice would be most appreciated!

I'm having a similar problem, my advice to you is raise HP and strength a lot

Most important thing is to freeze them, thendeal some major damage while they are frozen. If you can do that, then keep yourself alive while you take off their final health, you'll have them beat. They are very hard, so a strength boost of at least 55 is needed, but 85 is better. Also, quite a bit of HP is good, at least 120.

After 3 draws in a row, I finally beat them last night. This was after 4 losses and 3 other draws (those draws are SO frustrating).

Freeze first round with your strongest weapon and borrow. Once they're frozen, hit them with your bomb (HP and Illusen's earth potion is a nice pair) using berserk. Then, you have to look at your pet's hp and theirs for the third move. Either heal and use your strongest weapon again or if your pet still has good hp left, 2 strong weapons and drain life. Click go and cross your fingers.

My pet 158 hp, 125 s/d boost and to be honest the win was luck more than anything, as he only had 8 hp left on the last turn.

There is of course a good chance that when you freeze them, they also freeze you. That's a wasted turn on both sides. I don't withdraw, I'm weird like that when we're both frozen. I just click and on the next turn I can move, hit them with the bombs.

They are so hard to defeat, I can't believe it! Giant ghostkerchief is next for me, I don't think I'll be going against that any time soon. Need alot more training/hp for that one.

Actually, I find sink more ussful with them than burrow.

Well, my friend used to have a guide on his petpage. After he lost his pet in a tranfer, I've tried my best to remember it, and this was the stradegy:

Make sure you have the abilities Sink and Burrow (if you don't know how to get them, IDB has them. Just go to PPT's front page, click on Battlepedia, and go from there).

Have 100+ hitpoints and at least 55 strength.

Have the following weapons:
Scroll of Freezing, Snowglobe Staff, or Ancient Lupe Wand (pick one. Note that the wand is a species weapon. If you have a Lupe, use this instead of the scroll)
6 Water Muffins or 5 Water Muffins and a Honey Potion (depends on what you can afford. If you have a Honey Potion, then pick the Snowglobe Staff for freezing)
Thick Smoke Bomb

Now the actual fight:
On the first turn, use Scroll/Staff/Wand (depends on what you chose), Water Muffin/Honey Potion (depends on what you chose), and Burrow. If you have the staff and it didn't freeze right away, withdraw and try again.

On the second turn, throw two Water Muffins at him and use fierce/beserk attack (depends on what you have).

On the third turn, throw two more muffins and use Sink.

If they're not defeated yet, use the last muffin and the Thick Smoke Bomb with fierce/beserk attack.

If they freeze you during the battle, you might just want to restart. Even if you're both frozen at the same time, you might just not get enough damage to finish them before they finish you.

I've tried it with Stone Muffins instead, and by the time all of my weapons were used up, 1 hitpoint was remaining on them. You could try it as an alternative though if you're feeling lucky.

:) I beat them last night, boost, 55, HP, 160 (though they only got me down to about 90 though)

What I did:

Turn 1:
Snow Mudball + Ramtors Spellbook + Feiry Gaze
(froze)

Turn 2:
H4K + Ramtors Spellbook + Feirce

Turn 3:
Ghostkerbomb + Snow Mudball + Feirce

Turn 4:
Snow Mudball + Ramtors Spellbook + Feirce

Granted, I had borrowed some good weapons from a freind, but substituting every weapon for a Snow Mudball and use something like a Scroll of Freezing, it should work.

They had 4hp left on turn 4 while I had about 90

I beat them first round with my Sword of Skardsen and my Honey Potion :P

Now that I've beaten them 20 times, that doesn't work anymore though. They're still quite hard to beat, because they can hit so hard... ouch..
