Editorial - Rewards?

Is it possible for people who have been on neopets for over 5 months or something, could get something special, because I would have loved to get a starter paintbrush when I was new, I don't think that's fair. - gidig

Yes, rewarding people who keep playing is something we will be implementing shortly.

I wonder what kind of prizes. I would LOVE to see something given out with each new shield in the userlookup!

It would be nice to receive anything every month when your shield gets changed, but ...that just might cause multiple account creation simply for the purpose of getting more freebies.

Trick, a PB giveaway would be cool, either the PB's are random or account age will matter the PB...heck, maybe they'll give a rare item, like they do for Art Gallery.

To counter that they'll probably make the items like the starter paint brushes- you can't sell them, trade them, etc.

Probably ...that would be a smart move, but, again ...there wouldn't really be much point to those items then, other than sticking them into your SDB.

But . . . if people were getting free, use-on-this-account-only Maraquan paint brushes, for example, that would eliminate those individuals' need to buy such brushes, thereby decreasing demand and allowing prices to settle a bit even for those who didn't get that freebie.

She just said it'd be something, not necessarily a pet.

Her reply, however, was on a thread dealing with the release of April Fools pets as real pets, as sparked by this in the editorial:

Please can you release the 'Sharkaw'. Its over a million times better than the kougra which now looks awful. I myself have 2 kougras which I'm desperate to turn into the Sharkaw. There were also alot of pets in the April Fool's joke which put alot of the real neopets to shame but the quality of their drawings. (I also really liked the spider and the standing lizard like pets). - Malabui

I probably shouldn't say this as it will spark mass hysteria, but we are thinking of adding a vote so the most popular pets from April Fools Day can be tweaked and made into actual Neopets that you can adopt. They most probably will not be generally available to all, but there will be a way to get them. How many we release really depends on the voting. With any luck this will begin next week. Also the names of the new Neopets will most likely change as they were just jokey names.
