Anyone else see this in your guild today?
NOTE: Guilds that were created over six months ago, and which do not have any members other than the creator, are being removed for maintenance reasons. Sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for enjoying the guilds!
might make the sight faster, but those who are just starting their guild may get a bit mift...

I don't see how this would really affect people just starting out. Six months is an incredibly long amount of internet time and if you haven't found one other person to join your guild in that amount of time it's likely you never will. I think it might be annoying for the people who create their own private guild to help curb the random invites through neomail.

Well, this was in the News just a day or so ago. I think it's a good idea. So many people decide to make a guild, no one joins and then they end up forgetting about it. Then there are people who make a guild to test out layouts, things like that. Of course, the latter usually does get deleted when they're done.

I also think its a good idea - it will clear out a lot of space. And I don't have to worry about my main guild, so its fine with me. =]

Think they should clear out all the guilds that are 'inactive' and has less than 5 members too... they should invent some sort of a system to clear out the millions of 'little' guilds that just take up server space.
Something like, if everyone on the council of the guild has been inactive for 6 months, they delete the guild no matter of rank and status...
or something like that.

It's great for me. I created a guild
AGES ago (Feb 2003) to stop the tons of guild invites I was getting daily. However, about a week later I was demoted so that I was still the leader (and only member) of the guild but I couldn't delete it. It said that there was no leader position filled in the guild (IE : It says that I can apply for the position) but it won't let me fill it.
Long story short I sent a truckload of bug reports to no avail and was giving up on ever being able to join a different guild or anything until I saw this.
I finally lost my guild

I think this is a good idea, the requirement that the guild has to have been around for at least 6 months also stops the chances of proper guilds being deleted (like someone already said, if you can't find another member for your guild in 6 months it's probably just best to delete it). I wonder if people are going to resort to adding their sub-accounts to any guild that they create to avoid guild invitations so they have over 1 member.

I think this is a good idea. As huggles said, 6 months is a very long period of time and should be more than sufficient for anyone who created a guild to get at least some members.
You can easily counter this though - just create a multiple account and use it to join your guild.

Well, I gave up on my 10 member guild a couple of days before that news was released.
My new guild is cool though. I've gotten 4 free items already!

Yup ^^
Hopefully they don't have a huge guild glitch again o.0

A great Idea to delete the old accounts.. but I too hope there are no problems. ugg I remember the glitch.
