11th April

* Plot Update - We did want to stick to the schedule of putting up two episodes a week, but with all the extra things we are doing for it now (i.e the war, but you didn't just read that) it looks like we may not always be able to keep to that. We will make sure there is at least one update a week, and where possible there are two.

* If you own a Shoyru, you can now paint it Skunk at the Rainbow Pool.

* This week's first Pet Spotlight award has been given to a Kau called Kinii.

* There are some new pictures for you to admire in the Art Gallery.

* Why not put your creative writing skills to the test with this new Story Telling Competition?

Laara groaned. One full week of this? It was more than an Ixi could handle. She strongly considered leaping back onto the ferry, but that boat had (literally) already sailed, abandoning her and her friend in the frigid cold of Happy Valley. She scoffed at the name of the area, then (with no choice left to her) began treading through the snow after her friend...

* Blobagus can be painted Grey, Robot, Plushie and Blue.

* A new page of Testimonials has been added so you can see what people think of our real life stuff :)

* Think of something unique to say about this picture and you could win some lovely prizes in this week's Caption Contest.

* There is a new hiding place for your Neopet in Kacheek Seek. Now they can have some fun in the Faerieland Library.

* The Toy Shop has some rather traditional wooden toys for your Neopet to play with.

Heehee, they announced that the blobagus could be painted grey instead of mutant with a broken image to boot! *head desk* 8)

stamps foot ... I wanna know what they're going to do with this war! All the talk about some "new way" of battling and how it'll be more fair for everyone. Sits and watches weapons inflate like mad after the bd'ers read the news.

Waits also for huggy to be able to be painted disco, sigh.

There it is, Trick. I think mutant might stay hidden. XD

Oooh, maybe they changed their minds about mutant after seeing the majority reaction, heh. I should know better by now than to use the cool smiley, it always backfires xD

I have to say I do like that grey blobagus - no thick lines in sight *gasp* It looks cuter and more squishy than the plushie one I think x)

ha with my current stats and weak weapons i hope the war is fair also :o

New plot update is interesting. It means that it will go on for a lot longer at least. I can't decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Hopefully interest will continue with the plot itself.

Aww, now I don't know whether or not to paint my blobagus grey or blue or at all yet considering its age.

Actually, I don't think that means the plot will be going on much, if any, longer than it would with the twice-weekly schedule. It doesn't seem likely, after all, that they have all of the comics completed, since:

a) if they did, they wouldn't have had to switch to 4-page comics instead of 5 at the exact time that they started to run later than the scheduled days, and
b) if the comics were already completed, just putting up the two a week wouldn't take all that much more time than one.

Naw, if they're feeling a time crunch, then cutting back on the number, frequency, and size of the comics is a way to give themselves breathing room.

(And as Donna noted in the interview hidden in the PPT section of Pink Ink, completing comics and such these days includes translating them into a number (9?) of other languages.)

I would like to congratulate TNT on their admirable efforts to update us and inform us when they will be unable to meet set targets. I can see they are making an effort to improve here. One plot update a week is totally fine by me, especially if there is a war together with it. :)

I would congratulate them too.

Except I'm betting there shall be no war for a LONG time.

I agree. Although I'm disappointed that they can't update the plot twice a week, I'm glad they're at least telling us. Rather than just no updating and having us wonder what on earth is going on. :P

I'm glad they're telling us, too. However, I think they should never have promised two a week at all -- they have to learn to stop telling us their goals, because they often end up going back on them later. They should just have done two a week at first without announcing any set schedule, and then no one could complain if they dropped to one a week.

You're right, hiddenneggs, the comics are in progress, but the scripts are already written, so this doesn't mean the plot will end up any shorter than originally planned :]

There isn't really a time crunch, but with the other parts to go along with the plot coming into play now as well, we just want to make sure we do the best job we can without rushing them out. And yes, you're right that it does take time to make sure everything is available for users in the different languages :]

I'm really glad that you're enjoying the rebirth of Maraqua so far - return to your regularly scheduled news thread ;_;
