Question about the Fountain Faerie

So, I have the item that the FF asked for, but my question is: If I turn the item in to her, do I have to do the painting right away, or can I wait a few days? I'm trying to decide which to paint ;-)

I'm pretty sure you can wait. She just said to me, "The next time you come by the rainbow fountain I have a surprise for you." or something like that. I waited a few hours 'cause I couldn't decide which Darigan beastie I wanted the most... and it was fine. Went back and forth between that page and the Darigan pets list too trying to decide.

You can wait as long as your heart desires. Once you have the ability to use it, its there until you decide to do so.

i once had a darigan shoyru from the lab ray. Now, it's a shadow jetsam.

I've got a ghost Ixi from the lab ray at the moment... no species change yet and I keep getting Dwyrin's level set back to 1.
