Are you allowed to pay for graphics or charge for them?
Thu Mar 24, 2005 11:24 pm
Not if they have Neopets images.
Thu Mar 24, 2005 11:26 pm
I meant as in pay with neopoints.

If you're trying to sell anything other than items, I would definately not recommend it.
Thu Mar 24, 2005 11:28 pm
I don't think so. That's why I don't do it anymore.

I'm not, but someone in my guild said they made 55k off selling graphics and I always thought it was afreezable thingy.

It is freezable.
Though set contests aren't.......

You can get away with it offsite, but definitely don't do it onsite. That's a one-way ticket to ice paradise.

Actually, you are not supposed to exchange neopoints for Neopets graphics, that includes contests.
You also aren't supposed to have giveaways, either.
As long as you don't do it on the Neopets site, you should be okay, but be careful.

I don't plan on doing it I'd just like to warn the people who i see that do. Thanks all:)

Careful warning people as well though - people have been warned by tnt for doing that, presumably because people get annoyed and report, or because it seems like the warner is acting like they're TNT.

you aren't allowed to charge for graphics - period. Whether it's on the site or not. There was someone who had set up their own site with "custom" lookups. On their petpage they had the site addy and screenies of lookup examples.
I went to their site (not that I need a lookup made for me), but was curious. On the site, it clearly stated that you did have to pay for a lookup and there was a list of prices, either in np or in items and the scale ran from just a background to a full lookup.
That person was reported by a few people I know and that person was frozen - even though it was off-site. The rules say no charging, period.
Do be careful if you're going to try to warn people off doing this kind of thing. What I do if I see something like that is just suggest that they read the T&C and to click on the link in the T&C that has even more info regarding graphics.
From the T&C:
By the way, this means that you can't sell ads, barter for stuff, offer your services, or otherwise earn money, Neopets' Items, or Neopoints either on web pages that contain our pictures and other Materials, or by using our pictures or other Materials, such as by offering to make Neopets banners or backgrounds for others.
Actrually our set things in NNV? Maybe they should be called competitions or something else
![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Why? This:
No contests are permitted onsite or offsite except those that Neopets operates.

But should'nt Adam already know we do this?
It'll be really funny if I ever see:

That seems a bit pretentious, don't you think? TNT is way too uptight about their pixels.

Other companies and artists do that, too, though. It's not just TNT.
They are just protecting their work/copyright.
