Help The Newbies

Thu Jun 24, 2004 3:19 pm

I have been patroling the recent trades. If I see one of the chain letters, I politly send them a neomail:
If I was you I would take the "POST THIS ON..." out of your trade. It is considered a Chain Letter on Neopets. It doesn't work, and you can get frozen for it.

Thanks!

Jen

I normally get neomails back saying thank you or something of the same.

If you want to help you can do the same thing as me (The trades) or a different thing (The neochats) or even both!!!

If I was doing the neochats I would probably say:
I saw you posted a message that began with "POST THIS ON..." I would suggest you stop posting it. If you didn't know, Neopets considers it a Chain Letter. It doesn't work and it can get your account frozen.

Thanks!

Jen

I hope you guys will help!!!

Thats an awesome thing to do, Zega :)

I usually send them to anyones(not just newbies) who post such things. Far better than just insulting them or reporting them right away.

I used the term 'Newbies' Because that is normally the majority of them. But I just sent a neomail to a 34 monther, so it refers to pretty much anyone.

That's really nice of you Zega :) I just await now for someone to reply back and accuse you of hacking them or something. Silly, but it happens ¬_¬

yea, but some of them actually start it, and when you neomail them, the only thing they write back is "IT DOES!"

then is the time to report them :)

Hmm that's evil lol. Actually I find that being anonymous on Neopets is your best friend. It saves you a lot of headache.

Zega, I think that's a good idea. I've sent off a few neomails to people I've seen doing those chain letters, but I'm probably going to try and do it more now.

Some people actually believe it will work. And if they do it for the heck of it and don't take their trades down then its time to report them.

I see 20+ month players doing it all the time .. they mostly do it for the heck of it ...

It's nice of you mto do that! I agree, with so many spams out there, newbies could get confused with what's allowed and what isn't.
