What does the Vile Curse of Pestilence do?

just got it from a trade and I'm happy to see it's very valuable. Considering selling/trading it as well, but I'm also highly curious to know what it does if I read it to one of my pets.

I don't believe it does anything at all - it's just a book, AFAIK.
