Self-Frozen, but not by me?!?

Tue Mar 08, 2005 8:51 pm

I tried to log onto my account today and I received this:
This account has been FROZEN for the following reason:

This account was deactivated by the owner. If this was not your doing or you'd like to reactivate it, please contact us by clicking here.
If you think the above reason was applied to you by mistake, please contact our support staff by clicking here. Don't forget to include your USERNAME and explain why you think your account should not have been frozen. If you DID break the rules, please do not contact us again. Your account will NOT be unfrozen and you will not get your Neopet or items returned. But, you are welcome to create a new account, as long as you follow the rules.
Remember to read our Terms and Conditions thoroughly.

I did not freeze my account. I am never on the neoboards, heck I barely lurk here and it is *highly* doubtful that my account was hacked. It's nearly 4 years old, and I am not an active participant. I don't buy often from anyone, anywhere. I didn't even have any trades up. I had a book gallery, but nearly all of the items weren't too grand, and I only had 600 books (compared to other galleries and the number of books there are, that isn't a ton). I logged on sometime this week, for certain. I am nearly positive it was yesterday. I don't know what to do! They have a form, but I don't remember all of this stuff, I have basically just been zapping for months and not really playing (sans the war).
This stinks :x

Just fill out the form and explain you must have had your account hacked or something and that you didn't freeze yourself. They should give it back to you if you ask for it.

I just went back through my e-mails and found out that today is 4 years to the day that I created my account. Maybe that could be the problem?

Why would you think that's the problem? Just curious.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me today, I got the same message, and I didn't self-freeze.

I used the lab ray this morning, and I bought a yellow acara morphing potion for my lab pet (I was waiting for him to return to his normal gender, then I was going to turn him back into an acara and paint him)

I'm very upset about this, as I was about 15k off 2 mil (after having bought said morphing potion)

I've sent a frozen form, but am at a loss what else to do...

I suggest just filling out the form as best you can. If there is a space for you to put extra comments, explain that it has been 4 years and you can't remember everything and then try and put down little extra things that would help prove the account is yours, like petpets names and your shop keepers name.

Good luck

Heh, because it's neopets, that's why. The autofreezers aren't people, they are machines. Like I said, it is very very unlikely that someone managed to decipher my password; I also didn't receive any e-mails requesting my password, so I really doubt someone got into my account. I also know that no one did a cookie grab on me, because my other account that I log on to on a semi-regular basis is fine. No one else uses this computer (it's in my room) and I never log on to neo anywhere else.

So I think that may be it because I find it odd that it is a coincidence. I know a while back they had an issue with the lab disappearing at 2 years of having it (I know it still disappears randomly for some people and all that fun stuff)

Logic tells me that if I didn't do it, I did nothing to cause it and I know no one else got in, that there was a problem with a computer somewhere.

Well, if you do send a form in, good luck because I sent in a form I think over a year ago. o_O

Yeah.. it's common knowledge that you have to send at least five before you've got any chance of being listened to. Following that, you have to mail all the staff individually. I had to - every day for two months. But hey, I'm ice-free now :)

Anyway - pretty scary that people are getting "self frozen" without their knowledge - some sort of glitch here, surely??

Woah, I wonder how that happened... kind of creepy, if you think about it. Self iced? So they would listen if you wanted to be iced, but not if you want to be uniced. Self freezing should not be able to happen. Why would someone do that? If you don't like the account, just stop playing. Or give it to someone else, you know?

Oh, well I thought you meant that you thought happened because your account was exactly 4 years old. That's the part I was curious about. And here, it was just me understanding wrong :P . I was mainly curious about that because my main account is over four years old and nothing like that has happened to me. Thanks for explaining what you meant a little more :)
