As a side question... Are avatar collectors expected to send some token of thanks to a pet's owner if the person collected a free avatar from a pet profile? I imagine the pet's owner spent quite a bit of nps to get a painted pet whether it be pb, potion or lab ray.

Nah, don't think so. I mean, it's just a profile. Most of the Av collectors just look for an already existing spotted gelert anyways. But yeah, a random act of chairty might be appreciated

I wouldn't unless I was feeling particularly charitable. Most of the owners of pets such as these made a choice to paint their pet like that - why should they now get nps for it because people can get an avatar? Very rarely do people paint pets, "to be nice", for pet avatars that can be accessed by looking up the pet because there are always plenty of other pets painted like that there wouldn't be much point.
