How safe are auctions at the moment?

I'm contemplating celebrating the end of my first year on Neopets by blowing a bunch of NP on something cute but useless like a Gallion or something. :-)

I was wondering how the auctions are doing lately. I know they had a slew of problems after the new system was implemented. Are they doing better now or are people still losing NP and items on a regular basis?

Well, I haven't heard any problems lately but that's not saying their isn't any.

I wouldn't risk it at the moment with all of the instability that is prominent on Neopets as of late.
