Who writes for the Neopian Times?

Tue Feb 08, 2005 12:24 am

Anyone here besides me? I've been published 18 times but have not had anything published recently. I sent a short story in a few weeks ago and got a neomail back telling me not to send it in again as it had been saved. Just waiting for when it will get published now! I usually write short stories but I've got a few articles in and one comic which was a collaboration with another person. Got a series that's currently being written. I'm on part 4 of it and there will be 10-12 parts altogether.

Anyway, I've said my bit, now your turn. (that's if there are any authors here at all ;))

I've considered it, but everything I write gets too bizzare to send in. Maybe I oughta write something about the new pet. Oh well. I like to write, but the only writing class I ever got good marks in was creative. My mind wanders too easily.

Ive had one article published awhile ago

I've tried to have one sent in, but it got rejected because of grammatical errors or something. I wasn't too happy with it anyways, so pretty soon I'm going to redo it.

I've tried to do a few articles, but got nothing in. While I've wanted to make my Vigilantes story into a comic or series and send it in, more and more I feel it wouldn't get in for one reason or another, so I've decided to pursue that independent of the NT and have decided to work on a spin-off joke comic for the NT. Now, to get better at drawing!

I don't write for the Neopian Times, that's not to say I haven't tried though. I usually don't get any response back when I send articles in, nothing about my subject choice, grammar, spelling, etc. I honestly don't know why they don't like what I've been sending in as I've never gotten a response (then again, I don't get a response for anything else either, why should I be suprised?). On top of that, I'm not a very creative person and I have writter's-block more than 99% of the time so I can't really come up with any new really "wow" ideas.

I've submitted three times.

First time was very little effort...I deserved to be rejected.

Second time was a clash of creativity vs regulations (would have worked better as a "story" than an "article")....however it'd be a contender for pet spotlight if only I could draw a fitting picture.

Third time's a charm. :)

I got held over the third time but was published just a week later. :)

Go Cyanna! ^_^

I tried for it once a long time ago. I worked so hard for it, but it got rejected. I had a feeling it would be -- the subject matter's a grey area on Neopets -- so I was only a little disappointed.

I had an idea for another article some time ago, but I really don't have time to work on it. I still have that really large PI one I'm slowly working on.

I've been published once; it was a joint story months and months ago. It was under my old username 4aishaears...I can't seem to find it now though.

Aww, don't say that! If they were crap then do you think Felicia would even attempt to publish them?

Oh, and congrats Cyanna!

i tried a small article which was accepted... oh and if you know an answer to any of these questions, try reply

1) it said on the nt help page that you dont need html... then how else would you make words bold/centered/etc in your article?

2) if you submit a series, do you only get one trophy, or the trophies = parts?

I'm sure that when they say "you don't need HTML" that means you don't need to add < br > tags everywhere to make it look right. You can just write your heart out and the autoform will take care of the rest.

However if you want to do something special to text, bold italics etc. then the tags would be needed. But you don't need bold letters in order to make your story readable. You do, however need < br > tags or else it will look like one giant paragraph.

And I believe that you get a trophy for each part. :)
